He came up with suggestions on putting in pavers next to the hot tub and concrete pads in the back. He went above and beyond as we added things to the project and he came through with economical ways to complete the additions that we asked for. He even suggested using the extra pavers to make an area for the garbage can. They were professional, courteous and took care to clean up after themselves. I am a sole proprietorship with little overhead and because of that, I have very low prices compared to bigger residential firms out there. I also have a flexible schedule to get projects out in a reasonable timeframe. He was honest and upfront in noting that our best option would be to remove the deck to allow for better space and clearance. We did just that, and had a concrete pad poured in its place, which gave us a larger template to work with. Given the recent events, many contractors were not available, so we decided to work on this build ourselves. Having some technical background but not as a GC, Robert's drawings helped us greatly in obtaining the necessary town permits, composing a materials list & building the structure to code. He was available to discuss questions as they came up, and offered helpful solutions when we ran into potential roadblocks. "I contacted Concrete Care this past fall to replace three cracked sidewalk panels on my property. The contractor, Mike, came with his wife Jen, jack hammered the concrete and hauled it away. He promised to come back on a Friday and pour the new concrete. Friday came and went and he didn’t show up. After I called and texted him several times he finally came and finished the job. As soon as he was done, he bombarded me with texts, calls and emails wanting his money. He was slow to complete the work, but very quick to insist on being paid. He told me to not drive or walk on the concrete for at least a week. After a week, the concrete started to settle, and I noticed a gap on the edge of the sidewalk that was big enough for pedestrians to trip over. The finished job also looked very sloppy with visible trowel marks. I emailed Mike and Jen answered. She told me Mike had gotten COVID-19 and he couldn’t get to the job right away. We agreed to wait until the spring and she assured me I would be their first priority come spring and they’d make this right. Over the winter the concrete also began crumbling. I followed up with Mike and Jen several times and never received a response. Based on the quality of the work and the lack of follow through and communication, I wouldn’t hire this contractor again."
