"The owner Paul Grimmer is a crook. I paid him $24000.00 down to pour a 10000 sf driveway. The contract specified 4500 psi which is a more expensive, stronger mix. His first cement truck shows up and I asked the driver for his paper work. It was for only 4000 psi. Grimmer claimed is was a paper error. He ordered the concrete and he was caught trying to cheat me. He kept all my money and didn't pour a drop of concrete. A week later he buys a bull dozer. I had to hire a lawyer to recover my loss. This kid has no morals or integrity. "

Spraying water on concrete will slow down the curing process and can help create a stronger slab. Avoid spraying for the first four hours, and then spray five to 10 times a day for the following week.

The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9 per square foot. 

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.

It’s possible to pour your own concrete slab and stamp it yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Pouring concrete is a relatively simple operation, but for larger projects, you’ll have to pay for concrete delivery anyway. From there, you’ll need to make sure you get the proper thickness to avoid cracking and sinking, and then you’ll need to work quickly to get the pattern stamped on the surface at the right time—too early, and the pattern may settle back down, but too late, and it won’t set at all. Sealing resurfaced concrete is not an absolute necessity. However, it is recommended, and in most cases, a high-quality concrete sealer can protect the surface from stains as well as water penetration, extending the life of the resurfacing material. Some sealers are formulated to protect pigments from fading due to UV exposure. Sealer tends to enhance the colors in decorative resurfacing applications, making them more vibrant and richer compared to the duller, more faded appearance of concrete colors without sealer.

There are a few different types of finishes to choose from for the final step of the project. 

Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. Oil-based polyurethane sealants let out more odors and fumes into the air (it’s especially important to wear a respirator if you choose this type), but they take longer to dry, which can be more forgiving during the finishing step. 

Some may prefer wood oil to polyurethane because rather than creating a layer, it becomes part of the wood. Wood oil takes longer to dry, and is less resistant to wear and tear; however, it creates a natural-looking result by enhancing the grain of the wood.
