"Just weeks after installation, siding began falling off. After numerous calls, ABG Contracting (Milton Price) finally came out and used glue to try to secure the siding. Within days, that solution failed. Once again we contacted ABG Contracting but they didn't return to fix the siding until the following summer. Shortly thereafter, MORE siding fell off. They have not responded to text messages, phone calls, or email requests for repairs. In addition to the siding issue, ABG failed to install flashing when they installed the roof vent pipe, which created water damage to the walls and ceiling in the bathroom. The damaged drywall will need to be replaced, re-primed, and re-painted. ABG installed the entrance door incorrectly (out of plumb) and we had to remove it and reinstall it."

Yes, you should water the lawn after aerating. Now that you’ve loosened up the soil to better receive nutrients, it’s time to hydrate and fertilize your lawn. You’ll want to keep it evenly moist to promote healthy growth. Don’t drown your grass—too much of a good thing can reverse all the work you’ve done with aeration in the first place. But especially if you’ve overseeded and/or fertilized after aeration, you’ll want to ensure a moist soil layer to absorb those nutrients and fuel for new growth.

Raking only moves soil, leaves, and debris around on the surface. Aerating your lawn addresses compacted soil. Core aeration loosens up the soil, which makes it healthier and creates more verdant grass from the richer nutrients and stronger root systems that develop. Raking only provides short-term benefits, while aeration creates higher-quality soil and grass growth in the long term. Rake or dethatch before aerating for a bigger benefit to your lawn.

While your lawn will reap the benefits of core aeration faster than liquid aeration, the liquid solution will last longer and have more cumulative effects. If your lawn is in really bad shape, try both. By creating holes in the soil with the core aerator, you’ll make it easier for your lawn to absorb the liquid aerator solution. You might have to apply the liquid aerator several times during the growing season, but again, the positive results will be more cumulative than with core aeration on its own.

When your sod is new, you should keep an eye on it to prevent dehydration. As new sod plants its roots into the soil beneath it, it can easily get dehydrated and start to turn brown. Keeping a consistent watering schedule for your new sod will help prevent this issue and will help it thrive as it roots into your yard.
