One was hugely over priced and the other two were pretty comparable, with Alex Cole being slightly higher. It basically came down to our confidence in the experience of the workers and how they explained what they were going to do for our project. Tim was an absolute pelasure to work with and Renee in their office was very helpful. The crew came out on a Thursday for the prep work and laid the pavement, sealed the driveway and completed most of the drainage work on Friday. They waited about 1 and a half weeks to do the final grading and seeding of the lawn where they did the drainage work to allow the ground to settle first. The only reason that I couldn't give them a full and quot;Aand quot; was that I think they could have been more proactive in explaining why they were waiting to finish the final grading/lawn repairs. When I came home Friday night and found the lawn still torn up I was a bit dismayed as I had assumed based on our previous conversations that the work would by 100% complete Friday night. No note was left behind to explain and I had to wait until Monday to find out what was going on. Their answer satisfied me and when they came to complete the work they were very quick and efficient. I would definitely use them again. After consulting Angie's List, I decided to call Ellis Smith because he had a very high percentage of A reports, took pride in doing high quality work, and had done many repair jobs on all types of roofs, including several in our nearby area. Ellis returned my call promptly and arranged to give me an estimate the next morning. After determining that he could not safely inspect the roof alone--it's probably 40 feet above ground level--he arranged to return the next morning, a Saturday, with a crew. They arrived on time, were very pleasant and neat, gave me an estimate with pictures of the damage and a detailed explanation of the repair and materials. They then completed the repair because rain was forecast for the next four days. The rain arrived and the leak was gone! I especially appreciated the expeditious service, the attention to detail, including photos of the problem and the completed work. They also caulked adjacent areas that they thought might develop into future problems. I would definitely call him for any future roofing needs.

The result of that is one section sags badly in the middle. Membrane was planned to cover the roofs, but the workers had no idea about how to install it. The material was cut short, and, instead of being glued down, it was nailed, resulting in holes in the membrane. It will only be a matter of time before it begins to leak around the edges and through the nail holes. One part of one roof was supposed to be covered in a translucent material - so that light would get through for plants on the porch. The material used was cut short so that every time the wind blows, the roof material flaps and separates from the other sections resulting in large gaps in the roof. In part, due to these gaps, as well as gaps created by the roof covering being too short, every time it rains, it is almost as if there is no roof at all since that porch is completely wet. In addition, flashing was not installed correctly where the roof joins the house, so water runs down the side of the house. Furthermore, no gutters were installed, so water dripping off the roof blows into the porch. Other problems. 1. While the work was ongoing, a tarp was used to cover the work area, but the tarp was too small and water got into the open area during several rainstorms before repairs were complete. 2. A window in the kitchen was broken, and the crew left for the day leaving it completely open without bothering to contact us about the problem. We were both at work at the time and did not arrive home for several hours after they left, so not only was this a potential risk for vandalism, but we have indoor cats who could have escaped without our knowledge. Furthermore, glass was sprayed over a wide area in the kitchen, including in the cats' food and water bowls. 3. The job went on for 4 weeks - significantly longer than the 6-8 days that was estimated. Part of the problem was that they did not come daily, but showed up intermittently without letting us know what days they would be working. 4. He significantly underestimated the costs and he kept coming back asking for additional funds. We ended up having to pay an additional 50% in costs by the end of the job."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/groton/hudson-enterprise-reviews-2080991.htm"},"position":10}]}

FAQs for mailbox repair projects in King Ferry, NY
Brick mailbox repairs cost about $625 on average, ranging from about $500 to $750, depending on the extent of damage, type of brick and mortar, time of year, location, and experience level of the mason doing repairs. Hire a masonry contractor to inspect the brick mailbox’s damage and recommend a repair plan. They can also provide a price estimate that’s specific to your type and size of mailbox.
Yes, it’s usually possible to repair damaged brick mailboxes. If the masonry is damaged, the brick can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. However, the new mortar will likely be different in color from the original mortar joints. In most cases, if the mailbox itself is damaged, it’s possible to cut it out and replace it. Consult a masonry contractor to determine whether it’s worth repairing your brick mailbox based on its value and amount of damage.
Typically, a brick mason will repair a brick mailbox. They can provide an estimate for repairs, which may include sourcing replacement brick, mortar, and other materials. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office to confirm that a brick mailbox is allowed in your location as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes because of the potential hazard for drivers who may hit them.
Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their own mailboxes. Otherwise, a property manager is responsible for repairs and maintenance if the Post Office does not maintain it. If you own your home, you are responsible for maintaining the mailbox at the specified height, distance from the road, and functionality.
Mailbox repair can cost anywhere from $100 to $300, depending on the type of mailbox, materials involved, and labor cost. The estimated cost of repairs also depends on whether you need to replace the mailbox post, the post’s construction, and type of mailbox.
