"We had started a DIY bathroom installation. The demolition and start of the preparation was in progress, but it didn't take long to realize completing the remodeling would require a professional. My husband began a search, and we were very lucky to have found Shane. He came in, provided and very reasonable estimate, and began the work. The tile we chose was not the easiest to install. He gave educated recommendations on how to complete the design, which was extremely appreciated. As each step was completed, and I came home to see the progress, it was so exciting. The finished bathroom is beautiful. Shane's attention to detail, made a simple remodeling job, something that will certainly add value to our home. His tasks included wall tile, shower stall tile, floor tile, paint, plumbing installation and finishing touches of towel racks and fixtures. He completed all of these tasks with confidence and professionalism. I would highly recommend Shane for any remodeling job, and intend to continue to use his services for other jobs in the future"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

There are many signs that a tree is diseased or dying, and if you suspect that’s the case, you should call an arborist immediately. You might notice rot or fungus on the trunk or that the tree is beginning to lean to one side. Brittle branches or signs of root damage are other indicators that a tree is in trouble. If the tree is dying, it might be time to cut the tree down so it doesn’t fall.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material.

These trees can cost half as much as the trees at your local nursery, and you can buy them online—so there’s a much wider selection. Just make sure you keep your barefoot tree cool until you’re ready to plant it.

Once you confirm a tree is dead, you should remove it. Dead trees eventually fall, and larger trees in particular can cause damage to rooftops, fencing, flowers, and other objects. As we mentioned, letting decayed wood stay in your yard also invites risks to the surrounding landscaping and vegetation.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.
