Our company began as a decorative concrete pool surrounds company in 1984. Back then, the company, known as Concrete Concepts, was run by the Presidents father. For years he worked alongside his father learning the ins and outs of the industry. In 2007, the company moved into the market of full pool installations in the states of North and South Carolina. By 2015 the company got passed from father to son. The president became heavily involved in the fiberglass pool market and in 2017 he decided to completely change the direction of the company and focus fully on pool installations. In 2018 the company underwent a name change to Oasis Pool & Spa. Oasis Pool & Spa strives as a whole to surpass industry standards and maintain exceptional professionalism throughout the company. Building an inground pool is a job best left to the pros. Excavating the area and building the pool requires heavy equipment and specialized training, and pools have complex plumbing and electrical systems. A good rule of thumb is to always have a fence around your pool to ensure safety for all. 

Small animals, particularly rats and mice, like to burrow inside pool heaters. To keep them out, seal any entry points with caulk or steel wool. Then, place mothballs inside or around your pool heater. As a final measure of protection, you can cover the pool heater in hardware cloth or wood paneling to further block entry points.

If you don’t have the budget for one, there are numerous ways to warm up your pool without a heater. You can improve the insulation, use solar covers to trap heat from the sun, or even let a black hose sit in the sun until it heats up and delivers fresh, warm water straight to your pool.

While you can’t completely prevent evaporation, different types of pool covers can help a lot. Pool enclosures, however, don’t do much to stop evaporation—and the cost to build a pool enclosure likely won’t tempt you to try.
