He then capped the chimney to avoid having the same problem all over again. The problem has ceased, thanks to Mr. Baker's work. A power washer or pressure washer is too strong to use on asphalt shingles and will loosen the adhesive holding them to your roof, causing them to fall off. It’s best to hire a local roof cleaner to clean those shingles safely and without damaging them. 

To prep for metal roof painting, have a roof inspection conducted to determine the condition. Complete any repairs required before you paint. Remove the old paint on your metal roof, if any, remove rust and mold with a wire brush, and power wash the surface. Once the roof is clean and dry, start with a primer get painting.

To maintain metal roof health, schedule regular inspections, clear debris from gutters, and check for signs of corrosion.

On average, cleaning a roof will take between two to five hours. This timeline depends on the size and slope of your roof and the severity of any stains. Cleaning roof stains can take additional time, especially if there are signs of moss or algae.
