David began Greater Heights Tree Care with climbing gear handed down from his grandfather and is proud to have built a business that now has a fleet of trucks. We called them about a group of 11 small trees needing removal, and got a call back promptly, with a representative assessing the situation and giving an estimate within a day. They gave a possible time frame of three weeks, and came in less than two weeks to do the job. The crew of six then had the entire job done in a little more than half an hour, including the grinding of all 11 stumps and an extremely thorough cleaning job afterwards. The teamwork was impressive to watch, as was the machinery they used to do the job. We were completely satisfied from start to finish, and would have no hesitation about calling them again."

You should prune ornamental trees once every other year after the fruit has matured and begun to drop. You should also prune out dead branches whenever you see them. Pruning too often can stimulate more growth, especially in faster growing varieties like Bradford pears.

Most tree surgeons cost around $100 per hour or between $70 and $200 per hour for their services. You might get flat fees for more straightforward services, like a tree assessment, tree removal, stump grinding, and one-off treatments, but many times, treatments for tree diseases or pests will be charged based on an hourly rate or a per-visit rate. You should avoid cutting off the top of mature cherry trees. This process is called tree topping, and it’s not recommended for cherry trees—or any trees, for that matter.
