Professional interior and exterior painting and contracting. Residential or commercial. 25 years experience with quality and efficient service.

"Excellent. Scott was very professional and knowledgable concerning every issue we had in our home. He was able to do the work efficiently as well as economically. He made us know instantly that we chose the right person for the job. He got to work right away fitting us into his schedule, even though he does alot of commercial and more substantial jobs we felt as though we were just as important. Our house is now beautiful and Scotts quality of work is amazing. We would recomend him to anyone who needs a home project."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Use at least two coats of paint for exteriors for better coverage and added durability. When painting lighter colors over darker colors, a third coat of paint may be necessary to achieve full coverage of your home’s exterior. A durable paint specifically designed for the material of your home’s exterior will last the longest.

Improper hanging can damage the artwork, misalign it, and decrease its visual appeal, potentially compromising its structural integrity.

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”

Wait at least 48 hours before taking a shower in your newly painted bathroom. Even if the paint feels dry to the touch, it needs time to fully cure and resist the high humidity from a hot shower. Keep the bathroom well-ventilated by running an exhaust fan or leaving a window open during the drying time and while showering.

It’s possible to paint inside when it rains, but you should keep the windows closed and have a dehumidifier in the room to maintain proper humidity under 70%. Note that keeping the windows closed means you won’t have ventilation, so double-check that you’re using a no-VOC paint for safety. Even then, it’s a better idea to wait until the rain has passed before you start painting.
