Hi there! My name is Jess and I'm a long-time wallpaper/covering enthusiast, having began my interest through wallpapering my own home. I've since earned a Residential Installation Specialist certificate through the Wallpaper Installers Association and attended the Wallpaper Installer Academy, earning a certificate there as well. I offer services ranging from consultation, installation, and removal. Not sure what you want or what the right product type is for your space? I can help there too! I love that walls can tell a story and reflect who you are and I'm invested in being in-the-know with the latest trends and new industry offerings. Schedule a consult to get started!

"Everything went well, Jess hung the paper with expert attention to detail. She completed the job on time and I was absolutely thrilled to see how beautiful the walls are!"

"We aimed to redesign/repurpose the interior space for a small outbuilding on our property and stumbled upon BEAR Architects after a quick google search. Being a new business, they didn't have much in terms of reviews, however, they were very responsive so we went with our gut and gave them a chance. Thankfully our gut feeling steered us in the right direction. Beth and Andrew are incredible to deal with. We found them to be very composed, yet focused and aggressive in moving our project along. They paid close attention to the objectives we communicated. They listened to our ideas and steered us properly when their knowledge and expertise was required. They were efficient and completed our project within the scope of the timeline laid out in their proposal. Lastly, they were respectful of our budget and ensured that we received everything we needed for the amount we had earmarked for architectural work. In fact, we were provided with additional site plans that were not initially within the scope of the project. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to use BEAR Architects. We will certainly work with them again!"

Our vision is to bring architecture to everyone. We want the renovations of our homes and businesses to be easy, personal, and accessible. Design should bring value while reflecting the complexity of our lives. As a new service from Bright Architecture, Sixthirty provides affordable, custom design packages that brings personal and professional architecture services to small residential and commercial renovations. The design packages are priced per room, per shop, per floor area and broken out into a menu of separate design phases. By using 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, proprietary internal design processes, focusing on the customer, and leveraging our industry experience, Sixthirty re-conceives architecture as an affordable catalog of professional services with design, documentation, and project assistance packages.

"We loved working with Holly and the team at SixThirty so much that we hugely increased the scope of our work. First we just wanted a bathroom and a kitchen updated but we loved the plans and the possibility they brought to our space so much that we got designs for every space. Any renovation becomes a drag, but working with Holly and the team was very satisfying and filled us with ideas for our new space. She and her colleagues, especially Michael and Amy, were great, even though we had a million questions and wanted to know "why" for every decision. I can't recommend this service enough, especially for the ability to try out design in a small space and then get addicted and want to do more!"

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

The main difference between a home stager and an interior designer is that the former creates temporary, generally appealing spaces, while the latter creates personalized design choices for your permanent home. A home stager seeks to depersonalize your home while also showing off the best features of the home to potential buyers. An interior designer works with you to infuse your personal style into the decor in your home. You’ll typically only hire a local home stager when selling your home.

Professionals often use extra materials that aren’t included in traditional tree decorations, like pins and more expensive wired ribbon that can be carefully shaped. But even without these elements, you can improve your decorating by taking a few professional cues.

Always start by picking an overall theme, including colors, types of ornaments, and the overall feeling or message you want to create. Fluff your tree to its fullest potential, and include a generous amount of garlands, lights, ornaments, and bows to complete the look. Professional trees tend to be very “full” and well-balanced, with only a couple of ornament types to help the decorations flow.

Often those unaware of the differences use the terms interior designer and interior decorator interchangeably. There’s a reason why interior designer fees are typically more than those of decorators.

Decorators focus solely on dressing the room with color, furnishings, and finishes. Designers have a broader remit, covering structural planning, layout, function, and general aesthetics. Because of the additional skills needed as a designer, they’ll have studied in the field and should have certification and possibly licensing.

It’s unnecessary to tip holiday decorators, and most professionals won’t expect it, but it’s a nice gesture to show your appreciation for their work. If the expert goes above and beyond to keep your delicate decorations safe, or they’re hanging your exterior lights and putting out lawn decorations in freezing temperatures or inclement weather, a tip between 10% and 20% of your total will be appreciated. Large jobs that include interior and exterior work are also good opportunities to tip, especially if your expert is performing a rush job close to the holidays.

You may think that adding crown molding will shrink a room, but in fact, it has the opposite effect. The reason crown molding makes a room bigger is that it draws the eyes upward to the ceiling, which gives the impression of a taller wall. Just be careful that you don't crowd the room— if you have a lot of artwork or intricate wallpaper, crown molding may not be a good idea.
