"Eyder and Alex did a fantastic job removing old wallpaper, then prepping and priming the walls for installation of Aspect peel and stick stone tiles. They also installed the tiles which stunningly transformed the vestibule to our office. They were meticulous during the job, and left the area spotless when the job was finished. Their thoroughness and professionalism shined through with this job that was technically outside their specialty of wallpaper hanging, though you could never tell by the end result. They were a pleasure to work with, and I would recommend them highly to anyone."

"I've hired Joe and his painters to do several major painting jobs and some minor ceiling repair jobs in the home that I purchased a year ago. He had to bring in scaffolding to reach the top of the cathedral ceiling and walls, which worked great. Before painting, he repaired cracks and fixed nail pops. When I noticed some minor things that I wanted redone, Joe was very understanding and did so at no additional cost. He also stained my outside deck. All of the work has been high-end and looks great at a reasonable cost. He's very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. I give Joe my highest recommendation as a professional painter."

"Patrick and his crew of painters were very professional. They always showed up on time and did a very thorough job. After a few days of rain, they came on a Saturday to make up the time. Carlos, Pedro and other painters did a great job. I would highly recommend them."

"I had just purchased a home and I was unable to handle the painting with all of the other projects going on. I hired this company to paint my living room, three bedrooms, two foyers and several closets. He did a great job! The owner is knowledgeable and current with paint trends and colors. I found him to be very accommodating to my schedule and he asked plenty of questions to ensure that he understood exactly what I needed done. We experimented with accent walls and two-tone painted panel doors using both flat and semi-gloss paint for a unique look and finish. My experience was a positive one, the owner was both friendly and professional. I felt safe with them having access to my home and especially appreciated their meticulous handling of each room. Thumbs up for sure!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Putting up new wallpaper tends to take one to two days, depending on the size of the area, whether old paper needs to be removed, and if there is any damage to walls that needs to be smoothed over or fixed.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

The two most common reasons wallpaper does not stick are a lack of preparation and improper adhesive. Be sure to use the wallpaper paste designed for the type of paper you choose. Before beginning your project, make sure the walls are clean and free of dust, grease, and oils.
