"We hired Barbara to fix the kitchen sink, install a valve in the bathroom sink, and repair the shower in the upstairs bathroom. On a second trip, she installed new outside spigots to the back and front of the house. Everything's working great and she was on time and reasonable in price."

"When I called the office I spoke to Nancy and I told her I found them on Angie's list. I told her my problem and she said that she will get someone and call me back. She called back right away tell me that Jay will be here in fifteen minutes. Jay showed up right away and whet through the problem. He informed me that it will cost $125.00 either way if I hired him or not, I told him Nancy went over everything with me. He checked the dishwasher to make sure it was the problem.which it was not. He had to cut the wall open to fine that the metal pipe had holes in it, which he showed me. We went over a price to fix it and I felt it was reasonably. He worked for four hours fixing the pipe, he showed me everything he was doing. He cleaned up after he was finished and took all trash with him. Jay as well as Nancy was very professional and informed me about everything before starting. I will use them agai.n."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

To unclog a plumbing vent, you first need to locate it. Look at your home's roofline. The plumbing vent will be a vertical pipe sticking straight up from the roof. Since this pipe runs all the way to the main drain underneath your house, you should also be able to find it in the attic.

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

Yes, frozen pipes can prevent a toilet from working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which means your toilet tank won't be able to refill after a flush. This will prevent the toilet from flushing again. Depending on which lines are frozen, the ice can also block the drain pipe, preventing water from flushing away.

As a temporary workaround, you can manually add water to the tank for each flush. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try filling the toilet bowl or tank with warm water and flushing to help thaw the ice. However, the best long-term solution is to unfreeze the pipes to get your toilet back in working order.

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.
