"Everything is going great! I met with John, Stephen & Sabrina multiple times and their vision and understanding is always aligned with mine. They really make you their #1 priority which to me is really important. Ive hired other contractors that were extremely unprofessional and put other projects between and ahead of mine even though Id been under contract prior to them. I feel confident with Atlas James and excited to finally have found real professionals to get our projects done!"

"I purchased all the necessary materials myself. All they had to do was install. I was charged $75 $68 with the 5% off coupon) for less than 1/2 hours worth of work. That translates to $150 an hour ($142.5o with a 5% discount). I like PPHI, but that price for a simple install (which I could have done myself or had my neighbor do for free), I feel is very overpriced."

"Dan recently finished an addition for us and re-sided our whole house. We could not be happier with the work he and his crew did for us! Dan came highly recommended by our structural engineer and his quote was very fair. He stopped by the house several times before construction began to talk over what we wanted and each time he had really creative insights about how to make the space really work for what we needed. Dan and his crew were both professional, knowledgeable, and really friendly. They consistently went above and beyond during construction. On top of doing the job they were hired for (addition and siding), they also updated the electricity in our kitchen, created a walk-in closet, and installed a new exterior door in our garage. When issues came up and we had to change our plans a bit, Dan came up with a creative solution and did not charge any more than the original quote. We will wholeheartedly recommend him to any of our family and friends who need work done!"

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Common pitfalls include underestimating the cost of site preparation, overlooking permit and utility fees, and not setting aside funds for unexpected changes. Change orders during construction can disrupt your budget. It’s best to plan a detailed budget, obtain multiple quotes, and include a 10% to 15% contingency fund for unexpected expenses.

This answer varies based on where you are, but most states require that all homes are greater than 320 square feet. Remember that four walls are not the only requirements—windows, closet space, minimal ceiling heights, and indoor air quality are also factors. Each state and municipality differs, though, and as some don’t consider tiny homes permanent shelters, you’ll need to check to ensure you aren’t violating any local or state laws with your build.

Whether building a playground or installing a pre-made one is more affordable depends on the materials of each. In most cases, it’s more affordable to build a wooden playground than it is to buy one and have it professionally installed, but it might be less expensive to invest in a pre-made plastic playground, even if you pay a professional to install it. Wooden playgrounds tend to last longer, but as children age, they will become less valuable. Overall, it may be most affordable to have a pro install a pre-made plastic playground.

Your foundation contractor will first need to remove the topsoil and any vegetation within 4 feet of the area around the barn. They’ll need to ensure they have clear access to the site to begin excavation, after which they can begin construction.

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.
