"

After taking pictures and showing me the actual situation, I chose to go with the complete package.  Senior discount was offered and it seemed a fair price to me.  The actual job was performed in a most efficient manner, with pictures also made of the final result.  In addition AJ did a complete inspection, searching for any possible damp spots, as well as evidence of animal or insect presence.  Thankfully there was nothing and my attic got a clean bill of health.

I found the crew of Brian and AJ pleasant and efficient to work with and the clean-up was also professional.  I was so pleased that I scheduled another smaller job that needed doing.  I am very fussy about quality, and planning to use their services in the future is proof of approval of their work.

"Joel went over why it was cold and how it could be fixed. He went over two different options on how it could be fixed. 1- dense packed cellulose 2- spray foam. I choose the spray foam option. A week later they removed my garage ceiling and spray foamed it with closed cell spray foam and he even had a great dry wall guy he recommend. Great people, Great service and they had the best price!!!!!!!!"

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

While some aspects of an appraisal, such as comparable properties nearby, are out of your control, there are several steps you can take to potentially increase your home's value. Make any necessary repairs and upgrades before the appraiser's visit, as they can only value what is currently part of the home, not its potential. Examples include renovating older areas, updating landscaping to boost curb appeal, and staging your home. You can also provide the appraiser with the cost of recent upgrades, which may increase your home's value by about 50% or more of what you paid for those improvements.

Dehumidifiers typically use 300 to 700 watts of electricity per hour, whereas portable dehumidifiers use about 40 watts per hour. The exact amount of electricity your dehumidifier will generate depends on its capacity and energy efficiency. Generally, higher-capacity dehumidifiers generate more electricity than lower-capacity units, but they also usually have better energy efficiency over the long run.

Expert installation optimizes insulation properties, cutting energy costs and enhancing home comfort year-round.

STC (Sound Transmission Class) is a rating that describes how well a building material or assembly blocks airborne sound. A higher STC rating means less noise will pass through the material, providing better sound reduction. This rating system applies to various building components, including windows, doors, flooring, drywall, and insulation.

For context, a typical single-pane window has an STC rating of around 25 (where normal conversations are audible), while a well-sealed, double-pane window can exceed STC 45 (blocking loud speech and most music). It is important to note that for some products, like soundproofing drywall, the STC rating refers to the entire wall system, not just the individual panel.

Additionally, STC ratings are most effective for measuring sound reduction at mid-to-high frequencies, such as human speech, and may not accurately reflect how well a material blocks low-frequency sounds like bass music or thunder. Because of these factors, it is recommended to consult a professional to determine the right STC-rated materials for your specific soundproofing needs.

There are a few ways to reduce your electricity bills if you use window AC units to keep cool. Set the unit temperature at least 1 degree higher than it is currently to reduce costs. Keep the unit clean for it to run efficiently. You may want to hire a window AC specialist near you to inspect the unit once a year and keep it in tip-top shape.
