"Really pleased with the work of Nick and his team. Used them for a custom furniture build and then again for a small kitchen project. Very responsive and professional. Would recommend and use again in the future."
"They are a nice provider. I talked to them on the phone for about 30 minutes and they sent some samples. We were able to get a discount on designer purchases but not useful on designing the space. Once we told them what we wanted, they were able to help purchase from the warehouse and save about $1,500. I think they became too busy with this big deal. You buy a ticket per room and we still actually have a couple left with this provider. After redesigning one room, we kind of ran out of steam and have not designed the other rooms. Overall this is a good service and it's a good concept. Whomever I spoke with, she was really nice. I would recommend this provider. This kind of service seems to be for people with time and knows exactly what they want. They are super helpful with the designer discount from the warehouse. They don't actual design your room which is slight flaw."
"They refinished a dining room table and repaired and reupholstered six chairs. Very good quality. It took a while to complete but it was worth it. Price was reasonable."
"Using them was great the first time and they cleaned well. I had to have them comeback to some cleaning but there prices were outrageous. I don’t know if they got used a lot and felt like they we entitled to up their price. I did not use them again, only that one time. It did not took them a long time to come out, it was a couple of days. The girls were friendly and they were fast."
"Service performed for a family member. Paid $50 (no change): $40 for love seat; $8 for taxes on cost of Angie's List carpet cleaning deal ($100/ 3 rooms). Didn't know I had to pay taxes; never paid on other services. Please confirm Angie's list policy of taxes. Went to loo at work after paying; should have waited to pay but person was already outside ready to go. Carpet was OK but the love seat never had been vacuumed underneath cushions (dirty) and never cleaned underneath. Love seat had cushions all back in place while wet from cleaning. I had to remove all the cushions and lean them up on floor to dry. Very disappointed in service. "
DIY upholstery is feasible for simple pieces with the right tools and skills, though intricate jobs typically require professional expertise for the best results.
The average cost to reupholster a piece of furniture is around $720, with most projects falling in the $380 to $1,150 range. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors. These include the size and complexity of the furniture, the cost of the new fabric (which typically ranges from $50 to $70 per yard), and hourly labor rates (often $40 to $100 per hour). Additional factors that influence the price are the piece's current condition, its age, whether it needs other repairs, the number of pieces being reupholstered, and your geographic location.
The best way to test the quality of a leather couch is to put your hands on it. If the upholstery is soft and warm, that’s a good indication that the quality is higher. It should also smell like traditional leather. If it smells like chemicals, you’re probably dealing with low-grade leather.
Costs depend on fabric choice, furniture size, cushioning, and labor. For significant projects, expect estimates between $350 and $1,200.
To safeguard your furniture and upholstered items, it's best to use plastic wrap or specially-made plastic sofa covers. However, you should avoid wrapping wooden furniture in plastic if you plan on storing it, as plastic can trap moisture and warp the wood, plus it may damage certain finishes. In either case, old blankets or moving blankets make excellent alternatives. For protecting delicate glass table tops and mirrors, bubble wrap is always a reliable choice.
