"DON'T HIRE THIS GUY AND DON'T LET HIM FOOL YOU! He will ask you to pay him up front to do a job, then he starts the work, and doesn't ever return to finish it. When you try to contact him, he will ignore you. He recently did this to me and also Kelly Brotherton from Carthage. I paid him $1350 to do 3 jobs in December and to date he hasn't returned and ignores me when I try to contact him. He also did work for me that he was poor and he was supposed to fix and never did. I have been in carpentry and construction for over thirty years. I want the people I do work for to love their projects. We are fully insured. All my employees are covered under workers compensation. We work with you every step of the way. Our work is guaranteed, so if your not happy we will fix it. We do all aspects of home remodeling, electric, plumbing, tile and flooring. We also do decking. Kitchens and bathrooms are our specialty. We even do basement finishing. There probably is not anything we have not done.

"It came out just as I wanted and it was done in less that a week. The work is very good and the workers were very respectful. I would definitely hire them again."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

A foam brush or paint pad is the best tool for painting behind a toilet, as it will ensure that you can wedge into the tight space between the wall and tank and it’s less likely to drip and cause a mess than a mini roller. A standard paintbrush is the best option for doing detail work around the pipes.

You can paint concrete with paint rollers. In fact, using paint rollers is considered one of the easiest ways to evenly apply paint on concrete. A paint roller with a 1/2- to 3/4-inch-thick nap—which is basically a fabric paint roller cover—is best for painting concrete. The thicker the nap, the more paint it can hold to fill those pesky concrete cracks and crevices.

Whether you use a brush or roller depends on the size, shape, and amount of tiles. Rollers are easier to maneuver over large areas and can apply a more even coat of paint in a shorter time frame with no visible brushstrokes. Brushes are best for precision work, particularly in very small areas. If you don't want visible brushstrokes on your painted tiles, you can paint details with small foam brushes instead of bristled paint brushes.

You can remove your gutters before painting, but it's rarely required. It can be easier to paint gutters on the ground once you or a pro have removed them, but replacing them afterward can be challenging. In these cases, removing gutters may be impractical. Make your decision based on your comfort level and abilities.

While paint drying smoothly on a wall is ideal, a can full of dry paint is not. To open a can of dry paint, you’ll need a tool with a sharp edge, such as a utility knife or a box cutter. Take your tool and score the area where the lid meets the can to break through the dried-up paint. Then, use a paint can opener or a flathead screwdriver to pry the lid open and check the state of the contents. For smaller cans with plastic lids, you can run the top under hot water to loosen the lid.
