Small jobs welcome

"This was the first time we had our deck power washed and stained by Rob. It hasn't looked this good since it was built. He also replaced some broken lattice work and everything he did was in a very skillful manner. We've already asked Rob to do other jobs for us around the house. We highly recommend him."

Small jobs welcome

"Mario power washed, sanded and re-stained our back deck, pool deck and front porch. He’s very friendly, knowledgeable and met all expectations - and then some. All the furniture needed to be taken off the deck including a heavy grill and Mario not only helped to remove it, but came back a few days later (in between two of his other jobs) to help put it back - above and beyond! I would absolutely recommend him."

"X-Power Washing, who power washed my house, deck, fence, outdoor furniture and deck significantly exceeded all my expectations on every level. I received a very high level of performance for the price I paid which was more than fair for the exceptionally high quality of service that I received. I am now a steady customer of X-Press Power Washing and will hire them back on regularly scheduled dates to maintain the beautiful , clean, highly professionally maintained look of my home. I will receive a high rate of return at point of sale of my house on my investment in the very fair cost of its maintenance. X-Press Power Washing thoroughly, carefully, and gently washed every surface they touched making my house siding, windows, deck, and fence look brand new. They washed everything in sight returning everything to exactly where they found them! They took care of some details that I didnâ t even think of, and I am extremely detail minded. Above all, I felt extremely comfortable with X-Press Power â s people , Melvin and Mario , as they went about my home working and found them extremely reliable with excellent customer interaction skills. X Press gave me a detailed and very fair quote for considering the exceptionally high quality work that they delivered. I have my high quality, long-term professional each of whom i engage for my general contracting needs, landscaping, automatic water sprinkler maintenance, arborist care- and now I have a go-to power washing company, X-Press Power Washing, for all my future power washing needs Thank you !Melvin and Mario, May God bless you and your work."

"Moises and his crew repaired water rotted wood in difficult locations and completely finished the garage to every detail from insulation to molding, as shown in pictures here. They thought of every detail that shows their pride over their work. Not only is their work top notch, but they are also easy to work with and very communicative through the whole process. I have already hired them for a second job."

"Every person Iâ ve come into contact with at Sebonac has been friendly and professional. For me personally, one of the most important things, and what Iâ ve had problems with in other companies, is communication. These guys pick up the phone when I call, and if they canâ t they immediately call back. Iâ ve worked with a lot of different companies through the years and their prices are fair and just overall I really like their attitude when it comes to problem solving or working through any issues I have. There good people and do good work."

"We requested quotes to "REPAIR OR REPLACE" our existing deck. We were very pleased that when Ryan and Tommy arrived and did a complete inspection over and under our deck they said repair, replace some boards and repaint. They provided a fair quote and time frame and completed the work on schedule. The entire experience has been a good one. The two man staff they provided, Rodney and Tony and Job Manage Tommy, were pleasant and professional. They worked continuously even during recent heat wave. We are very satisfied with R & Ds work quality and professionalism. Neighbors commented on work done and the young men doing the work. JOB WELL DONE!!!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.

While experienced DIYers may take on the challenge, hiring a licensed professional is often the best route, especially for larger or elevated structures. A local deck contractor is typically the best pro for the job, as they have specialized experience and are knowledgeable about local building codes, ensuring your deck is built safely and designed to last. Other professionals who can build a deck include general contractors and carpenters, who may be more readily available in some regions.

A deck that isn’t attached to a house is called a floating or freestanding deck. These standalone decks are built near ground level, so they usually don’t need deck stairs. Some don’t even require permits. Generally speaking, building a floating deck is faster and more DIY-friendly than constructing one that’s connected to your home.

Yes, it is possible to add an under-deck drainage system to an existing deck by retrofitting it to the structure. This process may require some prep work. For example, many drainage systems are installed on top of the deck joists, which would require you to remove the decking boards and railings first. To avoid this, you could opt for a below-the-joist drainage system. For best results and to ensure proper installation, it is recommended to consult a professional. A pro can inspect your deck, make any necessary repairs, and then install the drainage system correctly.
