Though it depends on the exact type, most paint lacquers only take about 15 to 30 minutes to dry. However, you’ll want to wait at least four hours before applying another coat and anywhere between 2 days and 2 weeks before polishing.

First off, take a breath. The good news is that interior paint, especially when used outside, won’t harm your health. In most cases, you’ll need at least two coats of eggshell paint. This is a good rule of thumb to go by if you’re painting a wall or ceiling. Make sure each coat has ample time to dry before you apply the next one.
