"I had my lawn rolled. They came. they rolled, they left. Lol. A minor mix-up with the timing, but not really a problem. Will use them again for more garden work. I considered the fee reasonable."

Small jobs welcome

"When I got behind on my personal mowing and it just became too much for my self-propelled mower to handle, I searched around the area for someone to come and mow my lawn. Jonathan reached out to me after using home advisor and came and gave me a reasonable quote. I was so impressed by price and the quality of work as well as the customer service that Iâ m using Valley Bros next season as my landscaper."

"Job was completed in short order. Basement is completely, FRP paneling was installed and looks great throughout. My only complaint is that there was a ton of concrete dust left behind, both in the basement and tracked through the family room. I would still recommend them."

"I reached out for someone to grind my stumps, aprox 14 of them, he responded that same day and came to review the project and gave me a very reasonable quote. We agreed and he advised me when he would do the job. He called me and advised that he was on his way, on the day he said he would do the work. He did an excellent job, ground all the stumps we agreed on and 2 more. If you have stumps needing to be ground then J North is your best bet."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.
