"I used Luigi Cotumaccio Masonry Contracting to do concrete and stone construction on the front and sidewalk of my home. He is professional and honest and is a man of his words with a keen eye for perfection and quality work. He made suggestions to our original plans that came out better than we expected. In the future will not hesitate to use his service again and suggest him to others. He has a great team."

"One of the best contracting experiences we have had. On time everyday, worked through the entire day, started and finished on the dates we agreed upon and at the cost quoted despite additional work that was required during driveway replacement. Exceptional customer service. Very highly recommended"

"We hired JWHI to do our front patio/stoop and fence. Not only did we get a great deal, but these guys do great work. WE LOVE THE PAVED PATIO. These guys worked hard, in 95 degree weather. They were very meticulous and showed great attention to details. I was hesitant to contact them at first because we are in Suffolk County. It was a great surprise to me after being referred by a friend that they did come out to my neck of the woods, and boy am I glad they did! We will be doing our siding next year, and you can bet your bottom dollar these are the guys im calling to do the job right! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thank you JWHI, our neighbors have been complementing your work! We can't stop looking at it. It transformed the look of our entire home! Great work!!!! Thanks again!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

One advantage of selecting a resin bound driveway over concrete or asphalt is that homeowners have a variety of colors to choose from. Manufacturers customize aggregate materials, so customers can choose browns, golds, greens, blues, reds, and blacks. Some manufacturers also offer metallic shades.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Whether you decide to DIY paver installation or want to hire a pro, it’s smart to understand the process. First, you’ll need to prepare the area by clearing away grass and dirt. Next, you’ll add the paver base of gravel and sand before laying the pavers on top. You may need to cut pavers to fit your space or the landscaping design and add edging stones.
