"overall my experience with Pack’ N’ Move was a 10/10. Thaj and the crew were so helpful and flexible when it came to working around my schedule. When handling my items they were fast efficient and careful with each and every item. They were very respectful of my belongings and guided me through everything they were doing the entire move. I would hire them again and i would recommend them to anyone in need of moving help! Thank you Thaj and crew!"

"Miller and his colleagues were able to do a lot of things quickly. Along with everything else, they also grabbed some old furniture that I needed help moving to the curb. They took several cares to make sure nothing was damaged during the move, including wrapping the furniture, turning off all the lights, and packaging the picture frames."

"Mike Murray was excellent from the start. He answered on the first call and quickly set up the time for the quote. On the day of the quote he ran into an accident and was running late. He was professional enough to call and ask if I wanted to have him come that day or we would set up a new time. Not a lot of professionals would call, they would just show up late with no explanation. The quote was fair and a little bit cheaper than others I had received. On the day of the job Mike and his crew were about a half hour late but worked in some pretty warm weather conditions. They were clean, friendly, and did the job in a most professional manner. When it came time to pay the bill, Mike realized he had forgotten to include the dump charge for the shed debris in the quote. Without hesitation, he said he would eat it because it was his fault. Again something that a lot of vendors would not do. I highly encourage you to use Mike for any of the things he does. Check his website and you will be very pleased.

"It couldn't have gone better! They showed up when they said they were going to and did everything that I needed. They were very reasonably priced and worked well with my other contractors. I will be hiring them again in the future as I need more excavating done"

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.
