"A friend advised that we check out Home Advisor, we had never heard about it before so we gave it a chance and I am so happy that we did. We went on their website to review the recommended companies and saw that Handymack Handyman Services stood out with their reviews. We can now see why, we are SO happy with our deck! There were a few minor scheduling mishaps throughout the process, but overall they did a wonderful job. They were willing to do a style of stairs off our deck that they had never done before and were very helpful with the planning process of it all. I was impressed that they did everything in their power to ensure our happiness with the results as well as making sure everything would be up to code, safe and sturdy. I think all parties are very happy with the result! They had great ideas throughout the process that added a personal touch to the deck and made it look even better than imagined. We will definitely use their services for future projects in a heartbeat and will refer to all of our friends as well! We are very satisfied customers that can not wait to enjoy our deck for many years to come!!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Pool water—or rather, the chlorine in pool water—generally doesn’t damage artificial grass. This type of grass is made from plastic fibers that are incredibly resilient. That said, you can damage artificial grass around a pool in other ways. For example, the sun’s reflection off a window or fence can melt polyethylene fibers. A temporary pool can flatten and cause an indent in turf.

When looking into fiberglass vs. concrete pools, you will notice a big price difference. A fiberglass pool costs $15,000 to $75,000, whereas a concrete pool costs $35,000 to $100,000. While concrete pools are customizable, fiberglass is faster to install and requires less maintenance. Additionally, you can expect to pay $25,000 to maintain a concrete pool over a ten-year span. On the other hand, a fiberglass pool only requires basic maintenance like testing water levels and cleaning.

No, pool jets should not have air coming out. While it’s a common problem, making it seem like air coming out is the norm, bubbling pool jets are a sign of loose bearings or fittings, or low water levels. You should get to the bottom of your jets releasing air bubbles because it could be a sign that there’s air entering the pump, which can shorten the lifespan of your pump or lead to costly repairs.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

The disadvantages of container pools come down to flexibility and customization. Shipping containers come in standard sizes, so the sizes and shapes are limited. They also have a very distinctive look, which may not suit the aesthetic of your backyard.

Beyond that, while container pools are more affordable than in-ground pools, certain models can be more expensive. This includes the cost to heat your pool, since the metal walls have more heat transfer than other types of pools (which some brands circumvent with insulation).
