"Wonderful communication from day 1. Very pleasant to work with and Very professional. My wood deck was in bad shape and needed to be repaired, power washed, stained and sealed. The job was done with care and knowledge and done very well. The deck looks great! I highly recommend Star Dynasty and will use them again when I need work done on my home."

"John was great. We hired him to replace 3 doors on my ground level to help modernize my home appearance. The job wasn’t as simple as I thought but John reassured me he’d get the job done and that’s what he did. He was on time, clean workmanship and quick turnaround. Definitely will work with John Lang and his partner Joe on future home projects."

Customers say: True professional

"Arthur gave us a fair and competitive estimate and was able to start work quickly thereafter. He and his team did an excellent job gutting and totally remodeling two bathrooms and a closet as well as redoing some of the wood flooring, moving vents, and moving hallways. Arthur himself was at the home everyday and did the important work himself. He also went the extra mile in helping us with small projects around the major project as they came up. He was extremely responsive in provided us with timely updates. When complications occurred (due to the house having not been renovated in 40 years) he was clear and helpful in keeping the project on schedule. He was extremely honest and I trusted him to be alone in my house for weeks on end with his team. I would/plan to work with Arthur again in the future for my home renovation projects."

"The roof of my metal shed collapsed during the last big snowstorm. I called several companies for estimates and Ben came same day right away. We spoke about options, he explained what needed to be done, and how he would proceed, He was detail oriented and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with his approach. I highly recommend Dynamic Exteriors! The final product is a very strong, well built product that will withstand any storm for years to come!! Thanks Ben and Cesar!!"

"Quality work done in a timely manor for a far price. In a time when you can't even get a company to show up to do an estimate on a job, this is high praise. I would recommend them to anybody with a construction need."

"We hired Tri Build to do a complete renovation on an old home we bought in Eatons Neck. It was a very unique project that took someone that could think out of the box and make it happen. Ray,the owner, designed a wonderful layout for us and executed the project with honesty and professionalism. We had alot of changes as we went along and he was extremely courteous and very fair on his price. He did a full service job. Tri Build's project manager Tommy, was a complete gentleman and fully accommodated our requests Demo, roofing, siding. They built us a beautiful front porch. This company was a pleasure to work with. We couldn't have done it without Tri Build. We highly recommend them."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

It is almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than to build a new one. Building a home involves numerous costs, including labor, permits, inspections, utility hookups, and brand-new materials, finishes, and appliances. Additionally, new construction loans can have higher interest rates than traditional mortgages, and property taxes on new homes are often higher, increasing long-term costs. An exception is a DIY house build, which can be cheaper than buying an existing home if you do the labor yourself. While building is generally more expensive, a new custom home offers complete control over the layout and design. Furthermore, new construction is typically worth more than a comparable pre-owned home and may provide a better return on investment if sold quickly.

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

Yes, barndominiums are energy-efficient as long as insulation professionals properly install quality insulation, windows, and doors. Utility bills for barndo living can be up to 50% lower than those for a traditional home.  Make your barndo more energy efficient by working with contractors and HVAC professionals to strategically place windows, doors, and heating/cooling systems.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

Rather than using a common two-by-four piece of wood for a rafter, you probably will use two-by-six, two-by-eight, two-by-ten, or even two-by-twelve boards. Wider lumber is typically a better choice in a larger building as it provides more sturdiness. Some installers may use wider lumber for rafters near the edges of the roof, where the greatest stress occurs, and save money with narrower lumber toward the middle.
