"George and his entire company were amazing! George sat down with us and explained every detail of the work, and left us with material that gave us an education on Radon itself. This was very helpful for many reasons.. The work itself was conducted in an effective, clean, respectful and thoughtful way by his crew., and he came by to ensure completion and satisfaction. The crew even helped us with something adjacent to their job for no extra charge. I cannot recommend this company enough!"

"I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I checked a few Radon companies and Certified Radon was the best. They seemed to be the most knowledgeable, had the best warranty/guarantee, and actually came in cheaper than some of the others. They brought my radon level from a mid-6 to less than 1 on the first test. If you need radon services I would highly recommend."

"I had them come and give me an estimate. Josh was very professional and respectful. He gave me a written estimate right away. I would love to get the work done but cannot at this time because it cost too much and I am on fixed income. They will be the first I will contact should I decide to have the asbestos removed."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

If high radon levels are detected, steps include sealing entry points, installing a mitigation system, and retesting the air regularly to ensure reduced levels.

The cost to replace a radon fan ranges from $300 to $600 for the fan itself, with installation adding an additional $200 to $500. Overall, the total cost for replacement can range from $500 to $1,100, depending on factors such as the fan model, home size, and local labor rates. If the fan is part of a larger radon mitigation system, the price may be higher.

Keeping radon from getting into your home is much better than having to get rid of it once it's already indoors. While there may not be a way to fully prevent radon from getting into your home, there are things you can do to reduce the gas's ability to enter.

Sealing foundation cracks and openings can help keep the gas from seeping inside. Improving air flow, such as by opening windows, can also be helpful. If you're building your home from scratch, talk to your contractor about using radon-resistant construction to keep the gas out.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.

Radon is present almost everywhere but, like sunlight, the concentration levels and how often you are exposed to it have a large part to play in just how dangerous it is. There are levels of radon that are acceptable inside a house, but above a certain limit, radon becomes a serious radioactive hazard that is a known cause of lung cancer. In fact, radon exposure is the number two leading cause of lung cancer (after smoking).
