"This project dragged on for four months.   I first tried to get an estimate in August, and while the door was in place by the end of October, the final touches were not complete until December.
My first two appointments for an estimate were cancelled, and rescheduling was difficult.  FInally Jason himself dropped off a catalog, and said to call him with a couple of choices.   This was fine, although actually getting the estimates took longer than I would have expected.  We decided on the door and sidelights I wanted, and the installation took place a few weeks later.  Some interior molding was missing, and the installer said he'd be coming back to finish that up and do some interior caulking.  Right away I noticed the locks weren't functioning properly, and Jason came out the next day, and after a half-hour or so of trying to get them to function properly, he said they were no good, and he'd take then back to Home Depot to exchange them for good ones.  He had a rough time getting one of the locks out of the door, but after he did, he took them back to the store and returned with replacements.   He quickly installed them, and they are working fine.   As far as the molding goes, the missing pieces had to be ordered, and when they finally came, they were to wrong ones, so they needed to be re-ordered.   Finally the installer came back with the moldings, installed them, and did the caulking.
The door looks great and I am very happy with it.   However, throughout the process I had trouble reaching Jason and getting calls returned.  I felt that he was dragging his feet, and that this project was a low priority for them.  This is in marked contrast to earlier in the year when I had Xterior Solutions put vinyl siding on the house.  Communication and responsiveness was much better on that project.   That being said, the work done was excellent.   And Jason's primary installer, Ed, is a pleasure to work with.

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"The first guy Chris who came out to measure was really through and came up with some creative solutions for a slightly tricky shower door opening. The two guys who did the install were equally awesome and did a great job! ! They were even so considerate and wore shoe covers while in the house. I would definitely recommend Tri County Glass!"

"The salesman and customer service were great. However, I never got a call when the windows came in ready to be installed. I had to call to get that process rolling. So then the installation appointment was scheduled. They gave me a window of 11am to 1pm two days from when I called them. The day of the install, the workers showed up 20 minutes AFTER the window of time. Then it took them 6 hours to install 7 windows. I was under the impression that it would take them about a half hour a window. They replaced the windows on an 80 some degree day in August. I only have window AC units, so being without AC while I waited for them to do work. Ao it got very hot and humid in my house, not to mention a ton of flies took up residence with all windows removed before they installed the new ones. I almost felt like my home was being invaded! Haha! But i guess that is the nature of the work. However i was told that most of their work would be done from the outside, but that was completely untrue. They were inside a lot, probably because my two front windows are hard to get to on the second floor, because i have a roof overhang over the first floor due to a front porch. When they were finished with their work, they gave me a quality control report to fill out. Basic simple yes or no answers. But I didn't get a real chance to look at any garbage left behind. I found pieces of broken glass on my back patio as well as old insulation. Not good for someone who has a dog. They had to chisel away some cement by my front window, but did not clean up the debris that landed on my baseboard heater. And worst of all, they never asked me for access to the backyard. I have a garden fence, and I keep the gate locked because it won't stay shut properly. I could have easily unlocked it for them. However, they removed one of the fence panels, lost the screw to the post as it attaches to the stake that goes in the ground. We had to buy a new stake just to get another proprietary screw. Mind you this is at 8pm on a weeknight, because they didn't finish their work until 7:30pm. I kind of wished I was their first appointment of the day, because I would have had time to clean and fix everything behind them. They were supposed to clean during up, but they did not do a good job of it. Giving them 3.5 stars is me probably being nice, however the windows do look great and the hard work they put in installing them is definitely of high quality. They lost points in clean up and communication."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

You should always pack glasses standing up. It will eliminate the pressure that comes with weight when delicate items are stacked on top of each other horizontally. Don’t forget to wrap each glass individually with bubble wrap, and don’t add anything on top except for additional padding. Always mark these boxes as fragile.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.

Yes, you can use glass cleaner on outside windows, but only after you’ve rinsed away as much debris as possible. Using glass cleaner on top of a layer of dirt will only make it harder to clean.

Glass fences are extremely strong. You can drop 10mm thick tempered glass on concrete and it wouldn't break. Considering that certain types of glass are bulletproof, glass has the capacity to be exceptionally durable and resistant to breaking. Certain types of glass, like laminated glass, are designed to not shatter at all, but rather break into giant pieces.

The best tool for DIYers to use to cut glass is a glass cutter, which can either use a straight blade or a sharp cutting wheel to score glass. Once you score the lines you want to cut, elevate the scored line over a pivot point and apply light, even pressure to both sides. Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses to stay safe during the process.
