" mr. diFulvio and his crew were always on time, courteous and friendly.  He explained everything from start to finish and did everything he said we would do.   The roof looks beautiful and the leak we had has stopped. the gutters give the house a finished look. The downspouts were placed in more inconspicious areas that give it a tidier look.  The color of the shingles are very complimentary to our house.  Clean up by the crew was fastidious.  Not one shred or scrap left behind,   NO NAILS either!!  We couldnt have asked for a better 1st time contracting experience.  Thank-you  Jimmy DiFulvio!!

"Had to file a claim for new clothes dryer, and repairs on fridge. Foothills Star Appliance came to look at both. Eric was the repairman. He was friendly, answered all my questions, and very professional. I would highly recommend his company."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

A utility knife is sharp enough to score the drywall and it may work in a pinch for outlet box holes. However, one of the best tools for drywall when you need to make exact cuts for an outlet box quickly is a drywall saw. This handheld tool has a longer blade than a utility knife, so it penetrates the thickness of the drywall easily. The design of its handle and the teeth in its blade make it easier to control while cutting quicker than you can with a utility knife.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

To hide drywall edges, you need to properly apply drywall tape and multiple layers of joint compound. These materials hide the seams between drywall sheets and fill the holes from drywall screws, leaving behind a smooth, flat finish to paint over. Apply joint compound smoothly, and finish the job by sanding the walls to make sure you fully hide drywall edges and other imperfections.

Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.
