"I want to start out by saying Doug and his sons are very pleasant and their workmanship is good. It became obvious we took a back seat to another customer, whom he referred to as his “bread and butter”, and he withdrew his commitment to do extra work, that we had agreed upon early at the onset of the job. My “finished” basement was left unfinished, doors and window were not trimmed out, like was discussed. Every day they showed up at 9:30 and left at 3:30 with a lunch break, never put in a full days work. The clean up was poor. We had our ceiling painted black (a whole other story), and after sanding, my husband had to go through and clean EVERY board and duct work to clear the white dust from the sanding of the drywall, One wall was completely covered in dust and all walls had to be cleaned before painting, although Doug said he would leave it “paint ready”. There was drywall mud was on the floor and top of the drywall. Doug knew we were having flooring installed the following week, so the floor should have been cleaned of debris, not just swept. I am very happy with the framing and drywall, but UNHAPPY with the “finish”. I felt like I was filling a void in their work schedule so they were readily available to start the job, and the when more work came in, I took a back seat. The last day they rushed through and were gone by noon, when some of my extras could have been fit and more attention to detail could have been given. My husband has some repairs to do as a result of their haste. Also I had to pay additional for materials because of poor estimating."

Shaiful was by far the most knowledgeable contractor we spoke with and made us feel confident that he was capable of solving our issues.  When it was clear that there was no saving our original cornice, he offered up more than one suitable way forward. We decide to let his crew re-create the original piece from stone. The work they did left us with a beautiful and artistic facade the functions well in collecting rain water from the roof. "Work performed: Roof replacement Date: June 2020 Amount: $15,000 We chose Exceptional Exteriors after getting two bids, based on their excellent Angie’s List ratings, the professionalism shown by Daryl when I met with him to review the project, and that their bid was lower. I also appreciated that his crew was experienced and most of them had been working together for years. The project was a large house tearoff of five layers of roof, and it involved several sections of roof, from the main roof, to a porch, an addition, and a bay window. Daryl was prompt in replying to my questions and in communications about the schedule leading up to the start date. The crew arrived at 7:30/8am each morning. I met and liked each of the roofers in a six-person team led by Glenn, who kept the team well organized. As a very experienced roofer who loves the work, Glenn also performed some of the more challenging parts of the job, including a very detail-demanding reroofing of a near-flat area of our roof that had been a source of leaks in the past. His works looks great, and I am confident it will do the job for a good, long time! Overall, we are very satisfied with the new roof. The crew worked hard everyday despite some very hot days with temperatures into the 90’s. I did keep a table in the garage with snacks and iced beverages for them, and they were appreciative. They also replaced facia coverings that had been ripped down in windstorms, and these look nice too. One key aspect of any roof replacement is cleanup. I would rate their cleanup effort as solid. They cleaned up the yard at the end of each day. For a few days after their work, I still found small bits of old roof debris in a few vegetated areas around the house, but it’s nothing I wouldn’t expect and I don’t feel it’s anything major. Speaking of plants, the crew did a nice job protecting the plants around our house, and we have alot of ornamental plantings, large and small. In summary, I would hire Exceptional Exteriors again, and I would recommend them to others considering roof replacement or other exterior work."
