"Happy with the result. I was initially looking for replacement solar screens to change the screen color and remove the grid but Peter was able to reduce the cost by re-screening my old ones, removing just the grid, touching up the remaining frames, replacing the old anchors. From the street, they look brand new."

Originally from Australia, I’ve spent years working in the building and maintenance industry across four different countries. That experience has given me a broad skillset and a strong work ethic. Now settled in Las Vegas, I’m excited to bring that experience to the local community—helping homeowners with everything from small fixes to projects that need a bit of extra care.

Hi my name is Don. I’m 43 years old.\nI have been in the trades for 23 years.\nWhen I was 19, I worked for a contractor who remodel custom luxury homes.\nI spent five years with them and then took what I’ve learned and started a small any man business in California. \nShortly after that economy started to slow down, so I focused on one trade.\nNow that things are looking better I’d like to get back to what I did before.\nI have experience in everything from concrete to roofing, and everything in between.

"Peter was very professional and brought samples. He explained the materials, options and process and evaluated my needs. The solar screens look fantastic. My son is a superintendent in construction and he was impressed with the quality and work performed. I am looking forward to my shutters which are being made."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.

Yes, professionals can enhance screen durability by using robust materials like stainless steel or fiberglass and employing advanced installation techniques. They provide reinforcement and repair services that extend the screens' lifespan while maintaining functionality and appearance.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.
