I came from out of state to assist with the process and had no idea what options were available to remove trash and recycle other items. My request was answered quickly and I was able to schedule within a 2 day window I was hoping for. They provided updates on the day of service, and arrived on time. Sam was not daunted by the volume and took it in stride with a friendly and professional demeanor. His brother was on site as well and I could not believe the speed at which they conquered all that needed removal. No, you don’t need a garbage disposal for a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without a garbage disposal. However, the two appliances pair well and are often installed together. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly. 

Garbage disposals last an average of seven years but can function well past 10 years. However, as time goes on and more food is ground, the grinding plates will slowly lose their edge and need replacing. A motor likely won’t last 10 or more years, but you should be able to get a minimum of five years at least, even under heavy usage.
