"We were having problems with our irrigation system. My husband made an appointment with Santiago. He showed up on time and was very professional. He looked at the system knew exactly what the issues were and how to fix them. We were so impressed with his work that we that we talked to him about issues we were having with our lawn. Again, he gave us some suggestions and we hired him and his crew to replace the grass. Now we have a beautiful lawn. We would recommend Santiago and his company Roadrunner Landscaping very highly."

"Mr. Ortiz was friendly and polite. He listened carefully to my questions and gave thorough answers and advice. He was always on time and cleaned up thoroughly after each job. His prices were most fair, and he never rushed a job. I have had him do work several times, and I was always pleased with the result. I am happy to recommend this company to others"

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

The process to winterize your landscaping depends on the plants you have, but generally speaking, you should rake your lawn to avoid leaves from smothering your grass and leading to mold and fungi growth, wrap young trees to protect from fluctuating temperatures, and fertilize your lawn to provide some nutrients for the grass through the colder temperatures. You can also consider marking off small trees and shrubs to avoid accidentally damaging them with snow removal tools.

In many cases, it’s a good idea to water St. Augustine grass daily to keep the soil moist and the grass thriving. It’s drought-tolerant, but it’s always best to keep it watered. However, it’s also important not to overwater, so skip watering during wetter conditions and aerate your lawn to promote proper soil drainage.

Yes! Fescue grass is a perennial that naturally regrows every spring. That’s why we recommend planting this grass variety in the spring to jump into the ideal growing and regrowing schedule. Keep in mind that fescue grasses thrive in cooler and transitional areas, so some species do best in moderate climates below 90 and above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

St. Augustine grass grows fast thanks to its dense mat-like structure and vigorous root system. If you've laid St. Augustine sod, it'll put down roots, get itself established, and start to spread in 14 days.

Too much clover in your lawn can indicate several issues with your soil. Clover can thrive in soils with abnormally high pH, low-cut grass, and low nitrogen. Amending these issues can push clover out for good.

Hardy perennial clover loves the low nitrogen and compact conditions that often come with poor, infertile soils. But other factors also contribute to a clover explosion, including drought conditions, cool temperatures, under fertilization, and over-irrigation. You’ll need to evaluate all these elements when planning to kill off the clover.
