"They went above and beyond. My electrical outlet in the living room (with tv, etc) had stopped working. They came and were able to replace the wiring and got the outlets to work. They also re-installed the outlet in the downstairs bathroom and was able to install a new light fixture in the upstairs bathroom. The last electrician we hired wasnâ t able to do any of these tasks. We had gone without electric in these areas for a while. Thank god for Angi. I was able to hire them through Angi and they did an awesome job. I will be keeping them in mind anytime I have electrical issues in the future!"

Small jobs welcome

"We were very pleased with the work done. I was expecting they would install a 240 outlet for our EV. They did that and mounted the charger and cleaned up all the dust and debris. I will use them again for any future electrical work."

"Julio and his assistant Jesus are commensurate professionals. Julio runs a very professional operation and clearly does not cheap out on parts in doing the job. You can just tell by the braces he used to secure my new 200 amp box. They cut no corners. They installed a riser to meet code and are working with my home's 1950s wiring to get it going in a safer manner than before. Also running a conduit on the roof. Julio explains his work and answers all questions. He is reasonably priced and I would not hesitate to hire him on any electrical job big or small. I had some other folks quote me for this work and give me the end-around, being vague about pricing and what they would do. Julio is very matter-of-fact, pure professional, and his work has been great so far. I am very glad that I hired him."

Doorbell Installation questions, answered by experts

Open-cell foam insulation has a life span ranging between 15 to 25 years when well cared for. However, the material may degrade sooner in areas with high humidity or after prolonged water exposure. Proper installation and maintenance can maximize its longevity but requires close monitoring. Closed-cell foam insulation has a longer life span of 30 to 50 years.

Insulation can be easy to install, depending on the condition of your walls, but there are many safety considerations and potential challenges involved. For example, most types of insulation are made from materials that can cause irritation if inhaled or if they come into contact with your skin. Additionally, installing insulation incorrectly can actually make moisture issues in your home worse.

For your safety, you should always wear a mask when cutting batts of fiberglass insulation. We also recommend wearing eye protection, safety gloves, and long sleeves to protect your skin. Properly suiting up helps you avoid several fiberglass issues, such as cuts from the tiny shards of glass and inhaling small bits of fiberglass.

If you feel your energy bills are too high or your HVAC system is working harder than necessary to maintain the correct temperature in your home, you may have an under-insulated home. If you’re unsure, consider having your system’s efficiency assessed by a local independent energy auditor.

For standard 2x4 walls, the ideal insulation has an R-value between R-13 and R-15. This level of insulation, typically around 3.5 inches thick, fits well within the wall cavity. Common options include fiberglass batts and spray foam. The best choice for your home can depend on your climate; use R-value maps, like those from Energy Star, to determine the recommended level for your region. For colder climates, you might also consider adding exterior insulation for greater efficiency. Always check with your local building codes to ensure you meet any required standards.
