"Reviewed in Farmington, NM. Gary was extremely professional & explained every test he was performing to us, so we could understand. Called us after we received our air quality report & went through it in detail. We would highly recommend Gary & his company to anyone."

"Radium Springs Construction has commercial and individual home/property experience. My last roofing experience was only six years ago. Due to Radium Springs Construction's level of professionalism, their high qualiity of workmanship, the attitude and work ethic of the crews, and their high standards overall there is no comparison to my experience six years ago. The difference is so extreme, it could be compared to driving a high performance car versus driving a worn-out jalopy. Based upon my experience and my comparison, I would hire this company immediately. And I would not settle for a company less skilled or less professional. They are the best on all levels."

"We had a bad leak. Green Mountain Contractors (Zach and Joleen) inspected our roof and found extensive hail damage and several other problems. We had our insurance provider send out an inspector prior to Green Mountains assessment, so we had an accurate confirmation of the damage. All of the problems were addressed in a professional manner. Their team removed three layers of old asphalt and one wood shingle layer. After this Herculean effort they replaced the decking (wood planks) with pressure treated wood and Owens Corning TruDefinitionDuration shingles with a life time warranty. We also had new fascia board and an attic vent installed. Green Mountain took care of all the insurance paperwork and phoncalls and regularly kept us informed. They removed all debris and protected the landscaping . The crew was polite and informed us of any delays(rain and wind). We would hire them again withor without insurance coverage. een e n e l e a k"

"We received outstanding service and quality installation from Smith & Ramirez Roofing. We are totally satisfied with the new roof. Alex Ramirez gave us first rate service leading us through the process, describing the various types of roofs, and was very patient and professional in answering all our questions. Alex is very knowledgable and friendly. He was easy to reach, made all appointments, and kept us informed every step of the way. His office staff was also easy to reach and very helpful. The foreman and roofing team that did the actual work showed up on time each day and did a great job tearing off the old roof and disposing of it. The job-site was left clean and Alex personally came over to make sure everything was to our liking. The new roof looks so great that several neighbors came over to ask about the work that was done. We are very happy that we selected Smith & Ramirez for this job. Highly recommend!"

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Generally, you can tell if a home is bolted to the foundation by checking the foundation for plates. If you see that your foundational plates connect to wood or bolts protruding from them, this means that you have a bolted foundation. However, it's always wise to bring a home inspector in to confirm if your foundation is secure.

Both plumbing inspection cost and length can vary widely based on the specifics of a property. For a larger home, historic home, or rental complex, a full plumbing inspection can take a full day. Put aside at least eight hours from the start of the visit to ensure that you'll be available to answer any of the plumber's questions. However, a thorough inspection of the average one-story to two-story home lasts just two to three hours.

Whether or not to buy a home containing asbestos is ultimately a decision for the homebuyer, and there are several things to consider. When in good condition and contained, asbestos is unlikely to present a health risk—it’s when those tiny fibers are loose and airborne that they become a problem. Consider any renovations you plan on doing to the home that could disturb existing asbestos and the cost of removal. If an inspection finds asbestos in a home on the market, you could negotiate with the seller for a lower price, though this isn’t a sure thing.

Stucco should be inspected yearly or every few years, depending on where you live. Stucco homes in wet or humid climates are at higher risk for damage and should be inspected once per year. Homes in drier climates can wait longer between inspections, and get one every three years or so.

Having cobwebs in your home indicates you may have an issue with spiders entering your property. While spiders are mostly harmless, some venomous bites can cause human problems, such as a brown recluse or black widow. Regular vacuuming and dusting, keeping clutter to a minimum, and keeping your lawn trimmed and tidy are a few natural ways to keep spiders out of your home and remove the temptations that attract spiders.
