"We recently had our kitchen cabinets painted by Capital City Coating and the results came out amazing. The finish is smooth, clean, and professional, and it completely transformed the look of our kitchen. The attention to the cabinet doors, trim, and edges was excellent, and everything looks factory-finished. The crew was professional, reliable, and kept the workspace clean throughout the project. Communication was great from start to finish, and the project was completed on time. We?re extremely happy with the quality of the work and would definitely recommend Capital City Coating to anyone looking to update their cabinets or interior painting."

"Bill did an excellent job of filling, sanding, and painting the columns, vigas, and latillas. For the wood under the portal where we wanted to maintain stain, he did a beautiful job of matching the wood and making the filled areas look natural. He also painted our ductwork and other metal components to color match the stucco, repairing the stucco in a few places along the way. Bill is extremely reliable, meticulous in his cleanup, and fairly priced. Our next door neighbors saw Bill's work and hired him for their project."
"The quality of the work done was excellent! We did have a couple of communication issues that delayed work a few days, but once those were cleared up, everyone was really responsive. They got the full restucco of our house done in 1 day! It seemed like everything on our house was more of a pain than we initially thought it would be, but the staff were fantastic about staying late and making sure everything was done well. They even took the time to paint our gutters so that they would coordinate better with the house. All the guys on the job were really skilled and very, very kind. The only thing that I had an issue with was the clean-up/follow-up work that was done. When they were scraping paint, they didn't cover the ground, or my children's sand box, so I've been picking up paint chips for some time. My young children and I also have found about a dozen screws in my grass/ground that were left behind when they were changing out the gutters. In addition, they didn't put back any of the paving stones they took up to dig for the restucco. Finally, there were also a few areas on the freshly painted woodwork that got chipped during the restucco, but no one came through at the end and did any touch-ups. They did leave the extra paint for me to do it, but it would have been nice if it were part of the work. All in all, it was a positive experience. I would recommend them, but just make sure you're firm about the clean-up details that you want done. "
"First the contractor has a very good team of workers; all the workmen were very professional and cleaned up after themselves, which is much appreciated. They did an excellent job and did extra things to make sure it WAS done well. it is obvious they take pride in doing a thoroughly good job. The workmen were on the job promptly each morning, excepting when it rained and no outside work could be done, worked steadily through the day and returned every day until the job was completely done. (This is important because in the past, we have had experiences with other contractors wherein there was very spotty attendance of workers and the job dragged out frustratingly for weeks and weeks.) The color application is perfect, and the house looks charming again. The contract manager and staff stayed in contact to make sure all was going well and was sensitive to any inconvenience to the customer. He was very easy to work with and responsive to any additional work requests. We feel that making sure the client is happy with the job is of utmost importance to this contractor. Our neighbors have come over to see what was done and are very impressed, as are we, that the house exterior looks so good! And we have confidence that their warranty of 5 years is more than adequate. We are so pleased with what Santa Fe Stucco and Roofing has already done, that we have hired them again to do the interior refurbishment of the house, which is another significant contract. What is really nice about Santa Fe Stucco and Roofing is that they are an overall contractor that can do stucco work, roofing work, exterior wood refurbishment and also interior work, like plastering, repairing holes in walls and painting. I feel very pleased to have a good contractor to do all the various things needed to upgrade and renovate a house instead of having to work with several different contractors to get it all done. "
"Rogelio was excellent. Gave us a definite estimate for 2 projects (refinish roof, $4K, and exterior painting, $4K) and finished everything very professionally. Everything cleaned up when they were done."
"Reule Sun did a fantastic job of re-stuccoing our home, and also painting the trim. Steve, Jay and the entire crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We were very impressed with the quality of their work and the attention to detail. We highly recommend Reule Sun!!"

"American Custom Painting stained the outside of our house and detached garage, painted much of the interior of our house, and painted the interior of our detached garage. They are excellent and we can?t say enough great things about them. Brett is a great communion, they are neat and clean, and do great work. Brett is top shelf and we highly recommend him and his company."
While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.
Numerous primers on the market will do the job of covering peeling paint. The best primers for peeling paint are bonding or adhesive primers that essentially glue the edges of peeling paint back to the subsurface while providing a smooth, even surface for the new paint coat.
While the EPA provides guidelines for homeowners to perform DIY lead paint removal, it is a risky process and generally not recommended due to serious health risks and strict regulatory requirements. The process requires precise safety precautions, such as wearing a respirator and protective eyeglasses, creating sealed exits, and using a HEPA vacuum for cleanup. To ensure the job is done safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, it is highly recommended to hire a professional lead abatement company. Certified professionals have the necessary training, experience, and specialized equipment (like chemical strippers and HEPA vacuums) to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
Costs range from $2 to $7 per square foot, depending on surface type, paint layers, and removal method.
The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.
