"I hate being condescended to. Listen to what I want and then give suggestions on how I might be able to work that out in my kitchen. Don't just tell me it can't be done. I felt like I was wasting my time. I asked about a particular type of closet (not realizing it was part of a bigger cabinet...how would I know) and she told me to follow her (using her finger to me like a child) and said I couldn't have it because it was as part of a bigger piece. She could have just said that. I said if I can't make my kitchen more "usable" (less wasted space), WHY to with custom cabinets. I could just reface. The woman behind me who was waiting to ask her a question said. Listen, if you can't get what you want, I don't blame you for not spending the money. It's easy to reface. So, I called another company and, low and behold, I'm getting partial refacing and partial custom cabinets. He came and we discussed HOW I could get my carousel cabinet (uh - he suggested I go from a double to a single sink - easy peasy) AND, he came in at half the price your website suggested I might pay. It is really nice to be listened to...especially when it's MY money I'm spending."

My story: I logged onto HD's website.  I completed several online steps to identify my style and my palette.  About a week later, I received my design package.  Actually, I received two because HD could not decide if my style was "functional simplicity" or "city chic" so they created not one, but TWO packages for my bedroom!  A design package is incredibly detailed.  I received at least two options for everything from furniture to paint to window coverings to rugs to accessories to... the list seems endless.  For each item that was selected for me, there is a description and a price.  Part of the communication process is clicking each item to indicate whether I loved it or I'd rather leave it.  Then the fun really began... once I identified what I wanted to purchase, HD sent an invoice, ordered, and kept me updated on shipping.  My designer, Allyson, checks in with me every few days.  What's impressed me most about Allyson is her willingness to go above and beyond--I mentioned I wanted to re-do my closet, she recommended a company, I sent a picture of an armoire I liked, she searched and found several comparable items--this list continues.
