"We contacted Superior Siding and Windows for the exterior remodeling on our home. It included new siding, windows, roof, front door and stone work. Lou (owner) came in and gave us a very competitive quote and a one stop shop for everything we wanted done. The other quotes we received couldnâ t do everything and we would have had to get our own contractor for one piece of the job or another. All of the people that worked on our home were great to deal with, professional and clean. Superior Siding and Windows came highly recommended by four people in our neighborhood and now we see why. Lou was great to deal with from the initial quote right through the completion of the job. His communication and customer service were great as he always answered my texts and calls right away and attended to any item I asked him about. I would 100% recommend Superior Siding and Windows for any exterior work you are looking to have done."

"Roof was 25 years old and was due for replacement. I also had old LP fiberboard siding that needed replacing in some sections mainly the chimneys. The rest was ok and I couldn't see spending the money to replace it all. George Keller did a terrific job on the roof and worked with me to match the LP siding using James Hardie siding. Carl the estimator took his time gave me a detailed estimate with pictures showing all the sections of siding that would be replaced. George Keller had done other houses in our neighborhood and one neighbor, an architect, used them, so that speaks to their reputation. I would highly recommend them. They are very efficient and neat and will finish your job in a day or two."

Customers say: True professional

"I love my new home .. We literally touched every room and added a new bathroom and closet. The electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were updated. We got a new kitchen, new roof, new windows, and new siding. We reframed the front elevation to give the home a more modern look. And we did this during the pandemic. It’s done now and I am very happy."

Siding questions, answered by experts

You can calculate the required square footage of siding you need by measuring the height and width of your home’s rectangular exterior walls. For the triangular-shaped gable walls, measure the height from the ground to the tallest gable point to make sure you have enough for good coverage. Once you have combined the totals for each wall, add another 10% to account for wasted materials. It’s also good to have extra siding on hand to tackle wood siding repair down the road.

Many modern homes have soffits, but older ones don’t, and you may be wondering why. Older homes have eaves that extend further beyond the home and help to circulate air, negating the need for a soffit. This style of building has faded away, therefore, modern homes need separate soffit installation. Modern soffits are more efficient than this older style and require less material to construct, saving homeowners money.

Yes, clapboard siding generally costs more compared to vinyl. The average cost for vinyl siding is between $2 and $7 per square foot. Meanwhile, clapboard siding costs $4 to $20 per square foot.

Insulated vinyl siding costs about twice as much as the cheapest form of vinyl siding, but it’s still more affordable than other types of siding, including fiber cement, wood, stone, and brick. You get a lot of bang for your buck with vinyl siding; it’s durable, it’s available in a wide range of styles and colors, and it helps lower your energy bills.

Traditional clapboard siding, particularly with panels made from wood, is not a significant insulator on its own. However, you can keep your home cooler in summer and warmer with "insulated clapboard siding," which is a type of vinyl clapboard siding with a built-in foam insulation. Consult a local siding contractor to determine whether insulated siding is right for your home.
