"He came to check out the project before giving a quote. Gave a fair quote, but we changed the project a little. He remained fair and through. Would hire again"

"The owner Anthony was great. He explained everything they had. Todo and how long we would be without power. There work was very clean and neat. The home generator was the best thing we ever did he even comes and serves it every few months to make sure its working as it should. We world highly recommend AWR and we would use them again if we had another electrical project."

"Triton electric truly deserves a five star rating from me. Triton first completed lighting work for exterior of THE GYM last year and it was done efficiently and exceeded our expectations on timing and professionalism. Over the last 2 months we have begun renovations and a new construction project here at THE GYM, Triton electric was our first choice. From the initial quoting of the job, to the installation, to the consulting with our architect and contractors, Triton has been extremely professional, communicative and reliable. Thomas’s whole team have been a pleasure to work with and we as a company would highly recommend and continue to use them for all of our projects going forward."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

You can determine what size generator you need for a transfer switch by matching the switch to the largest outlet on your generator. Larger generators can power up to 10 circuits, while most 5,000-watt generators can provide power to six circuits. So, if your generator’s largest outlet is 30 amps, you’ll need a 30-amp transfer switch.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

If you’re deciding between a solar battery versus a generator for the best backup power solution, you can take a few factors into consideration. Solar batteries are quiet while generators can be quite loud. Generators have a lower up-front cost, but they require fuel and ongoing maintenance while solar batteries are more expensive but don’t have many ongoing costs.

A portable generator can supply power to selected appliances and circuits in a home, but it's generally not designed to handle the entire household's electrical needs simultaneously. Portable generators have limited wattage capacity, so they are only designed to power essential devices and electronics temporarily until local power is restored. If your power needs outweigh the capabilities of a portable generator, consider installing a whole-home generator instead.

Most homeowners won't be able to claim a home generator as a tax write-off. However, a whole-house generator may be tax-deductible in certain situations depending on its purpose. For instance, if it's needed to power essential medical equipment, it may qualify as a medical expense deduction. Also, in some cases, businesses can deduct a generator as a business expense if it supports operations. Always consult a tax professional to determine eligibility based on your specific circumstances and the applicable IRS regulations.
