"Everything went very well. Richard and his crew were very professional and friendly. They worked non stop until the job was completed. Some of my neighbors will be using them to do their driveways. If I need work done in the future I will not hesitate to call Suburban Asphalt. I will refer them to anyone looking to have their driveways, etc. done."

"From the time that Ashley his administrative assistant contact me and told me when Mr. Jim Harrison would arrive at my house and triage my crumpling driveway he arrived on time. Spent a good amount of time reviewing my driveway then explained what he would have to do to give me a new driveway. He told me what it would cost and i agreed on the price and we agreed on the week to complete the work. The contract was mailed to me and the contract was a fair agreed upon price. H did not require a deposit prior to starting the job. With the weather optimum Ashley called me ahead of September 18, 2020 construction date so that I could clear my driveway of cars and other items. Ashley told me that Jim and his crew would be at my house ready to work at 11:00 AM and they arrived on time. When I came home after they were **** the driveway that I saw had never looked so good. Definitely 5 star work. Reasonably priced, when Jim says that he will make an appointment he keeps his word. If JRH wants to use my driveway of an example of his quality of work I would be happy to let him post on their web site or have a potential customer look at my driveway."

"The guys fixed the bottom of my driveway which had a very steep entrance where it met the main road. They cut out about 20ft of the driveway entrance and put in new asphalt then flatten it out to make the entry much easier to enter without scrapping the front and back bumper of my vehicles. They also had me test it out multiple times to make sure it was right and made the necessary adjustments before they left. Great Service, most definitely will use them again!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Regular sealing, crack filling, and professional inspections help extend pavement lifespan and prevent costly repairs.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

Since it has a smoother surface using a mixture of finer rock and sand, 41A tends to be the best asphalt grade for a driveway, especially for residential driveways. Other options are available, but more homeowners choose 41A for a smoother asphalt driveway. Talk with your asphalt driveway professional for recommendations of the best grade for your specific driveway.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

A driveway approach is the part of a driveway where the public road meets the private driveway. This section contains several key elements, including the driveway apron, the curb cut, and the end slope. Depending on the slope of the driveway, this area may also contain the trench drain.
