"We help take care of my husband‘s brother from a few states away and he needed a help with a clogged shower. I went on Angie’s list and found Mo from 123 Sewer and Drain LLC. He called me back very shortly after I requested help on Angi’s list. He was very professional, friendly and got the job done right away! I would definitely call him again if the need arises!!"

"Needed leaky water valve repaired and sewer system unclogged. Came within 45 minutes of my desperate phone call. Installed new valve and new copper piping. Could not flush clog from inside, so came next day and dug 7' hole in front garden to remove the clog. Also installed vertical pipe to access any future sewer problems. Work crew had to dig out two big bushes to access the old sewer pipe at my home's foundation but replanted them along with any tulip bulbs they displaced. Truely considerate of my early spring garden! Courteous, mindful of property, work done in a timely fashion at a fair price. Explained each step in the process and why it was needful. Very pleased with 'Moose' and his work team."

"Jimmy and his team were great! They replaced about 25 feet of sewer line for us and installed clean outs. Great customer service from the start and was very accommodating, even in indulging in all my novice questions about what was being done. Fair price and excellent work. Highly recommend."

Customers say: Quick response

"I would have given them a 5 if not for the person who came to our house to do the actual work. The guy, although did the job as contracted, was unable to answer any questions and got very upset when asked to show what he had done and the before and after of the sewer. I called the owner of the company who came to our house to explain in detail and show what was done."

"George responded right away via Angie?s text and then a phone call. Came out the next day to attempt to snake two clogged tubs on second floor of a side-by-side two family home, connected to one sewer line.. Clog was more severe than expected. Came back next day with partner to find pipe where they join but it was behind kitchen cabinet of both homes. Decided to bypass existing line and run new lines from each tub, join them and then drop a sngle pipe to the basement and reconnect to near the main drain. George and his team were professional and communicated in a timely manner. Cleaned up and covered opening with plastic and suggested not to close wall for a week and inspect for any leaks. No leaks so far. Closing walls this weekend. Offered us a great price and an unbeatable 12 month payment plan. Thank you George and team."

"Not only are they knowledgable and professional, but for matters of sewer line 'issues', all the Pipe Works' techs we've had are THE BEST. Quick to the scene. Informative on the options. Understanding of the 'nature' of the problem too. It's not often you can say this about professionals in any field let alone plumbing experts dealing with sewer lines.... these guys are compassionate. "These guys are great. Fast, super clean and efficient. I got their name and review from Home Advisor and called them at 9AM. THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE. They came by at 11:00, quoted a very reasonable price, were working within the hour and were finished by 4:00. The owner called back an hour later to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely hire them again."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Depending on the home, wastewater either goes into a septic tank and seeps back into the backyard or is sent via sewer system to a local sewage-treatment plant. Septic systems naturally separate different components of the waste so that it can naturally and safely disperse it. They are usually reserved for homes not served by a municipal sewage department (like rural homes). A treatment plant, on the other hand, speeds up that process through screening and purification.

A sewer line should be cleaned at least once every 18 to 22 months. The process takes about 30 minutes or up to 5 hours, depending on the size of the line, how easy it is to access, and how long it’s been since the previous cleaning. If your sewer line hasn’t been cleaned in a couple of years or you don’t even know the last time it’s been cleaned, it’s time to call a pro.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

There is conflicting advice on whether to leave a baking soda and vinegar mixture in a drain overnight. Some sources suggest it can be effective for tough clogs, recommending that you flush the drain with warm water in the morning as part of a monthly cleaning routine. However, other experts advise against leaving the mixture in for extended periods, as its caustic nature could corrode drainpipes if used too often or left in for too long.
