"I had a broken window that needed repair. Rafael contacted me immediately and came the next day to repair it. It turned out it was a much more involved repair than first anticipated. He spent several hours replacing the window and rebuilding all the wood trim around it. The window looks great! He also honored the quoted price that he gave me. I cannot say enough about how professional, dependable and responsive he was to my needs. I will definitely call him in again for future needs and highly recommend him to others!"

Their knowledge, expertise and craftmanship are top notch. Cesar is easy to work with and truly cares about making sure his customers are happy. Cesar has an uncanny knack for finding a solution to any problem he encounters. I found his pricing to be very fair and reasonable and I quickly learned I could trust Cesar. I’m a reliable construction and maintenance professional with hands-on experience in residential repairs and renovations. I currently work as a maintenance technician for a large property, handling everything from small fixes like lighting and fixtures to larger projects such as laminate flooring, sinks, and vanities.\n\nPreviously, I was a project manager overseeing full kitchen and bathroom gut renovations, while also working hands-on from demo to installation. This gave me a strong understanding of doing jobs efficiently and to a high standard.\n\nI take pride in being detail-oriented and delivering quality results that last. I’m also honest and upfront—if something is outside my expertise, I’ll communicate that clearly. With strong customer service skills, I focus on making every job smooth, professional, and stress-free for the customer. \n\nIf you’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and committed to quality, I’m here to help get the job done right.\n\n

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Most windows last for 15 to 30 years, depending on the frame material and the glass quality, but most will require repairs during that time. Windows gradually lose efficiency, so it’s usually best to have a window repair technician inspect and service your windows every five to 10 years. You should also repair your windows if you experience the following:

  • Leaks

  • Drafts

  • Difficulty opening or closing

  • Sudden increases in heating and cooling bills

  • Outdoor noise becomes more audible

  • Signs of physical damage

Professionals clean window screens the same way a homeowner can—by removing the screens and cleaning them with a sponge. A window cleaning pro may come with better equipment, like a high powered wet/dry vacuum or pressure washer to speed up the process and achieve a deeper clean.

Yes, you can fix windows without replacing them. However, this will depend on the severity of the issue and what your needs are. Minor water damage, broken glass, damaged casing, and worn caulking are usually easy repairs. But if there is excessive damage, the windows are constantly foggy, or the windows are very old, it’s best to consider replacing them. Replacement windows cost between $575 and $1,475 per window, or an average of $850 per window.

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.
