"Great! This is the second time we used el toro. They removed 18 dead trees in just two days at a very fair price. David is terrific to work with and his team works hard and left the yard nice and tidy!"

"I was very please with Mastership tree service- came today done in a flash taking away a fallen dead tree. He was very knowledgeable about trees when he came to see the job I called for and that impressed me. Alex keeps his promise by texting or phone and offered a very very affordable price . will defiantly use his service again."

"We had a tree come down in a storm a couple of years back, I'ma be honest it's been a little while. That was 2 or 3 years ago. They did a phenomenal job. They cleaned up, almost cleaned up too well. We wanted them to leave more granite for the fireplace and stuff like that I had to tell them "Wait, don't shred them all" but they were very kind about setting things aside, dusting main pieces of wood that we wanted to keep for our fireplace and getting rid of everything else. They tidied up beautifully. They worked very fast. I don't know how many helpers they had, but they were really quick. It was a part of a tree that a lightning bolt took off the top, almost half. The tree forked about 20 ft above the ground and the lightning took off one of the two halves of the tree. Unfortunately, a little bit of it hit the roof of the house and punched a hole about the size of your fist into and got that patched up. The people did a phenomenal job getting what was on the lawn of the lawn. They showed up on time, right away. They were top notch."

"I have a lot of overgrown trees on my property, plus neighbors' trees that hang over into my yard. This is the third time I've used North Jersey Tree Specialists, and I continue to be very satisfied with their work. The guys always do a good job and they clean up all remaining debris after a tree is cut down. They've made my yard much neater, brighter, and safer by the work they've done. Their prices are always very reasonable. They are my go-to tree service.

"Extremely professional and courteous. Excellent clean up. Tom and his team climbed the trees , carefully and safely cut the tree into many pieces so as not to damage the house and electrical wires. They removed existed fallen debris without any additional cost. I will highly recommend this company. In fact, my neighbors pleased with his job already hired him."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

Unfortunately, if you cut the top off a palm tree, it will die. Instead of budding or branching out, the top begins to slowly rot. That's why having a professional tree trimming at least twice a year is a good idea. If you don’t have experience with trimming your palm tree, you might accidentally cut the top off, leaving a dead and rotting tree in your wake.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

Generally, avoid trimming trees in the summer (with the exception of pruning fruit trees as needed). Trees use a lot of energy in the summer, most of which is relegated to new growth. If you chop it too early, you could stunt the next season's growth. Again, when in doubt, do some research based on the specific tree type.
