"Bill from Pizzazz was awesome!  It felt like dealing with an old friend.  He was courteous, personable and very friendly!  He was available to answer all my questions and when he wasn't available he returned my calls quickly. He even took it well when I wanted to change the color we had picked for one of the rooms!  He gives great advice on what colors will look best where and color combinations to coordinate.  His two workers were amazing as well.  They were always here on time and kept a very clean workspace.  They paid such close attention to detail, it was impressive!  This is coming from a very picky person who is very detail oriented so that means a lot!  I can't say enough great things about them and the work they performed.  I would highly recommend them to someone who is looking for exceptional service!  One thing to keep in mind is that they may be priced higher than competitors but I have found over the years that you get what you pay for.  I would hire them again tomorrow if we needed any more work done!

"We had a little trouble arranging for a date that had suitable weather conditions to perform the work, but once an acceptable date was available the work was performed much to my satisfaction.  5 months later the roof is stain free and looks like new.  I would recommend their services.

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

Sand is a common sublayer for hardscape features like driveways, paver patios, and more. Most projects that involve sand require a 1-inch layer to promote evenness, drainage, and weight distribution. For further drainage, most projects have a 6-inch minimum layer of gravel beneath the sand.

Sandblasting is useful when you need to strip material off a hard surface. Common reasons to sandblast are to remove paint, rust, or get a surface ready for a new material. You aren’t limited to surfaces like walls either—you can sandblast rusted tools, bicycle frames, cement, bricks, and many others. If what you’re sandblasting is still structurally sound, sandblasting can be a fast and inexpensive way to revive the original material.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.

The cost of sandblasting depends on the scope of the project, the surface type, labor, and equipment required. Services typically cost between $50 and $80 per hour, though most professionals charge by surface area at a rate of $1.50 to $7 per square foot. Total project costs can range from $700 to $12,500, with an average homeowner spending around $3,200 to sandblast a 1,000-square-foot surface.

The best way to sand a deck is by cleaning it, sanding the boards and stairs with 60- or 80-grit sandpaper, and sanding the railings and posts with 80-grit sandpaper. You should sand in the direction of the wood grain to avoid damaging the timber. When sanding your deck, use medium pressure and aim for an even sand. Pressing too hard with a sander can damage decks, as most are softwoods.
