Small jobs welcome

"Before I met Mr. Sanders, I spoke to several contractors who said it was an extremely difficult job to install a new door in my wide and deep doorway. They all said they didn’t know what they might find behind the existing trim and walls. Mr. Sanders said he could do the job with no hesitation. He arrived a few minutes early and immediately got to work. He was polite, diligent, thorough, neat, efficient, and respectful of my home. And unlike the other contractors who quoted outrageous prices, he painted both sides of the door, all the new trim and removed all debris. I am thrilled with his workmanship and professionalism. I will definitely hold onto his card for future projects and would recommend him to anyone who demands quality work at a reasonable cost."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Designing a building takes 2-6 months, depending on project size, required permits, and revisions.

A chandelier can last 10 to 50 years or more, depending on its quality, usage, and maintenance. High-quality chandeliers made of durable materials like crystal, brass, or wrought iron tend to have longer life spans. Regular cleaning, timely light bulb replacement, and proper care can extend its life significantly. Vintage or antique chandeliers can sometimes last for generations with proper restoration and upkeep.

If your chandelier is flickering, it may just need new bulbs or wiring, so consider repairs before replacing it.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

It’s unlikely. Not many baseboard heaters come with designs that offer the option to switch to a new kind of cover, but you can certainly ask the manufacturer for more information. Keep in mind, a cover with the same dimensions as your old cover isn’t guaranteed to fit because clasps, screws, and brackets may be in different places. The only way to be sure is to find an alternate cover that’s made to work with your specific model.

Any homeowner can carry out interior decoration themselves, but many struggle to devise a cohesive and appealing design that balances comfort and aesthetics. Interior designers are not only trained in design principles, but they also design home interiors for a living, so they’re much more likely to produce a final product that meets your needs. Hiring a professional can sometimes lead to savings on the materials, as some experts know how to source more affordable decor and furniture via their professional connections.
