"We hired Uprise to replace and install a stone walkway and a backyard stone patio. From start to finish, our experience was phenomenal. Eric clearly explained the project plan and options. His ideas on design were extremely helpful and the masonry work is beautiful. We highly recommend Uprise construction."

"This review is way overdue — thought I submitted when the job was done last year. (Sorry!) Still very happy with the wood & wire fence installed by Dave and his hard-working crew. Dave is great to work with and he came up with the ideal plan to suit our needs and fit into our challenging property. The fence was installed and finished in a little over two days (and it was not easy); it is definitely worth the money. I will definitely call Dave for future projects."

"Mike was great. I got two spots in my backyard that I wanted patio pavers, around one side of the pool and underneath my second floor deck. By the pool was approx. 250sqft with a walkway and below the deck 256sqft as well. Along with 3ft x 15ft concrete patch. I needed this project competed before the weekend and him and his crew was able to get the job in three days. Both patios look great and my wife can finally see my vision and she loves it as well."

"The response to our original phone call was very quick and an explanation of the work to be done was very thorough on the first visit.  We felt very comfortable with the experience and although we had other quotes that were a little less  we felt based on the Angie’s List rating we would go with Hendrickson Excavating.   The work was scheduled very quickly and when the work was complete you would not have known a basement crack had been repaired.  Mark cleaned up the whole area making it look as if he had not been there.  When the bill arrived we were given a further discount as the extent of the work required was a little less than quoted, which we felt was excellent, because being inexperienced as we are we,  would not have known it took less to complete the job, very professional.   We fully support Hendrickson’s high rating on Angie’s List."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Masonry work tends to be more expensive because the materials can be costly, such as natural stone and brick. Masonry is also very labor intensive, typically making up 50% or more of the final project cost. In addition, quality masonry work requires years of training and experience, as with any skilled trade.

Yes, brick walls often add value to a home. For starters, many people love the look of brick walls, so they can enhance your home's aesthetic appeal and add warmth to your property, especially when it aligns with the rest of your neighborhood's look. They also provide privacy and security, which can further increase the resale value of your home.

Yes, professionals have the skills to restore historical or intricate masonry by respecting traditional techniques and materials. They address damage meticulously, preserving the original design while ensuring stability and longevity.

Discoloration ondifferent types of brick can range from harmless to red flag. For example, efflorescence that is caused by a buildup of water-soluble white salt is considered harmless. However, green or greenish-yellow stains are caused by salts that are harmful to brick. Staining can also be caused by rust, corrosion, lime run, soot, algae, or moss.

Removing paint from brick can have both aesthetic and practical value. Some people prefer the timeless look of bare brick, making it worthwhile to remove old paint layers. Brick also lasts longer when unpainted, as paint traps moisture, causing the brick to deteriorate more quickly. If your brick walls are already in bad shape, stripping the paint off might do more harm than good.
