"Sergo and his team were a pleasure from start to finish. To say that your contractor's team shows up when they say they're going to show up every single day is , in itself, high praise. I hired Picasso less than 2 months ago to demo my kitchen and dining room and install new ceiling, walls, flooring, insulation, windows, heating unit, as well as the entire kitchen. From start to finish was about 6 weeks, but easily 2 weeks of that was waiting around for cabinets and other materials that hadn't been delivered yet (I insisted on getting custom cabinets which slowed down the project). They work quickly, are very budget friendly, and importantly, have your satisfaction as their highest priority. Every morning I would see Sergo and he would ask me what I needed, what my concerns are, or if I had any questions. He is quick to respond to a text or phone call, and implemented every design request possible. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and there were a lot of small details particular to my taste that Picasso was more than happy to adjust and accommodate. The workers always left the job site clean when they left for the day, and were always very polite and considerate in our home. My wife and I are thrilled with the finished product. I really can't imagine a better ratio of quality work to dollars spent. Picasso was very competitively priced, and I have not hesitated to recommend them to my friends and colleagues."

"This is the BEST group of people to work with. In fact, I've used them to reface my old cabinets at both homes. They are professional, clean, on time. Don't replace old kitchen cabinets...have the reface your old ones...they have NEVER disappointed me both times. Truly worth refacing...don't use anyone else but them!"

"Aurelio and his team did a wonderful job in installing a micro with a duct to outside. In our kitchen, we had an old microwave without a duct and wanted to replace it with one with duct. Aurelia gave us a good quote and finished as we wanted. Would like to recommend and hire him again for the more similar jobs."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

Late summer or early fall are two popular times to upgrade kitchen cabinets. With the holidays right around the corner, this gives you spillover time in case your renovation project takes longer than anticipated. Then you get to host and show off your new kitchen when company comes.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

Careful measurement is crucial—measure multiple times and account for hardware thickness, seasonal wood movement, and clearance requirements. Test-fit components before final assembly, and consider building one drawer as a prototype before cutting materials for multiple units.

Birch or maple plywoods have tight grain patterns and are dense species that hold up well over time and even in damp environments with proper sealing. These properties make them the most stable plywoods. Oak plywood is also an excellent option. However, care is necessary to ensure oak is well-sealed against moisture to ensure stability.
