"Concept light and sound installed pathway landscape lighting along my walkway. They did such an amazing job and Phil was so attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely hire them again for other areas of my house for accent lighting. Highly recommend."

"I had a great experience working with TJ Electric for the installation of recessed lighting in our living room. They responded to our inquiry, sent a quote, and completed the work in less than 3 days. They were responsive, offered a fair and competitive quote, and the lighting turned out great. They were even able to add a few extra lights onto the contract when they arrived at a minimal cost, and checked in with us a few days after to make sure everything turned out ok. All in all, we are very happy with TJ Electric, and would 100% recommend them to other potential clients; we will be sure to use them again in the future."

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

"The work went very quickly and cleanly. The price was very reasonable and matched the estimate I received. I highly recommend using Rowling Thunder Electric. John explained every detail of the job so I understood everything. I usually ask a bunch of questions, but he covered everything he was going to do, thoroughly and in terms I understood."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

Outdoor lighting repairs typically take between 1-3 hours. The exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the ease of access to the lighting fixtures and wiring.

One possibility is that they aren’t getting enough sunlight during the day, which could be due to a lack of sunshine in your area or trees blocking the solar panel. Alternatively, if the solar panel is dirty or the batteries are dying, your solar lights might not operate at full brightness.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.
