"Rick Williams was terrific. He explained in detail how he would contain and remove my adorable but destructive and unwanted resident groundhog. He carefully laid and baited the traps and said to call whenever the trap was triggered and that he's come pick up Mr. Groundhog. Well, Easter Sunday, we had a trapped rodent and Rick came, as promised, to take our unwelcomed guest away!"

Bed Bug Inspection & Extermination The Bed Bug Inspectors is New York City’s first independent NESDCA Certified Bed Bug Dog Inspection Company. The Bed Bug Inspectors was formed as the bedbug problem has made its reemergence back into our homes, offices, schools, hotels and our lives in general. We use only NESDCA trained and certified Bed Bug Dog Teams so we can get the most accurate results for our clients - upwards of 95% on the scent of live bedbugs and viable bedbug eggs. The Bed Bug Inspectors is an independent bed bug removal company that does not apply pesticides or remedial services, even though we are a Licensed Pest Control Operator. This allows The Bed Bug Inspectors to give all of our clients an unbiased inspection as only man’s best friend can do. Each of The Bed Bug Inspectors Bed Bug Dog Teams consists of Dog and Handler. The Bed Bug Dog Teams are trained by J&K Canine Academy Inc., the top Bed Bug Scent training school in the world. All of our handlers were trained directly by J. Pepe Peruyero and Bun Montgomery, both of whom were part of the University of Florida Bed Bug Canine Study. Once a Bed Bug Dog Team has completed their course together, they are sent to receive national certification. NESDCA, which stands for National Entomology Detection Canine Association, is a certifying organization assuring the quality and standards of scent detection dogs. NESDCA was formed by Pest Control Professionals to ensure that the highest standards for Entomology Scent Detection Canines are upheld. The Bed Bug Inspectors is New York City based, but this is only our home. We travel, as we are needed nationally and internationally.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Wasps tend to be more aggressive and defensive than bees. Both will sting to defend themselves or their colony or nest. But many bees have barbed stingers, which means they can’t pull them out of the skin after stinging, allowing them to sting only once. When provoked, wasps can sting multiple times, making them a more menacing pest.

Many brownish housebound arachnids could be mistaken for hobo or wolf spiders, including nursery web spiders. An easy way to classify is to look for traditional spider webs, as neither hobos nor wolves participate in this practice.

A raccoon may be hanging around your house for convenient access to food, water, or shelter. They may drink water out of puddles, pools, ponds, fountains, or your pet’s water bowls. Raccoons are also known to eat just about anything, including food from gardens and waste from unsecured trash cans.

Ticks are most commonly found behind (or even inside) ears, behind knees, in belly buttons, in the hair, and in your underarms. If you find a tick on your body or on your pet, use a pair of clean tweezers to grab the tick as close to the surface of your skin as possible. If you simply yank or twist it, you can leave the tick’s mouth parts lodged in your skin and will need to remove those carefully with the tweezers.

Once you have removed the tick, flush it down the toilet and wash your skin with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Know the signs of lyme disease such as fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, and a rash.

There is no exact science here, due to the nature of nests and how mice raise their young, but a good place to start is to inspect the droppings. A single mouse poops a lot, leaving around 50 droppings in a single day, likely near a primary food source. If you find only sporadic droppings, you likely have a small infestation. If you spot large mounds of droppings, you are dealing with a big problem.
