"The Marioni crew were amazing! The service was top notch! Removing wallpaper from 3 large areas and one small area was no easy task. They did the job and it looked fantastic. The painting was flawless. Above all, the crew were so accommodating to my special needs brother."

"He is very professional. I would definitely recommend him. The only thing I can say is that he doesn't speak fluent English but we were still communicating very well. Everything was finished on time. He was always answering the phone when I had questions which is important for me because I've had people who would disappear. He never did that. He did a perfect job. There is nothing that I can complaint about, absolutely zero."

We had a little back and forth on determining the day--not sure why Angie's List gives date options, it should be discussed with the provider either prior to hire or shortly after.

Denny arrived as scheduled. He let me know of potential issues (uneven walls, prior spackling that prevented him from removing the switch plate). The completed job looks great! Denny was professional--all surfaces protected, thorough clean up. I would definitely would hire Professional Touch of Cape May again.

"Our overall experience working with Minerva Finishes was a real pleasure.  The crew was polite, courteous and very neat. The transformation in the kitchen was incredible with the Venetian plaster on the walls and the counter tops refinished the room looks amazing. The Venetian plaster in the kitchen was done in a beige tones and the counter tops were done in off white, brown and hint of turquoise running through it,  which really added a nice accent to the kitchen.  The foyer looks great as well and the custom trim work really made a huge difference.  We choose a deep red color for the walls and the trim was painted in an off white in the foyer and the color combination looks amazing.
We were very happy with all the work that was done. We will be definitely using Minerva Finishes in the future and would highly recommend them!!!!

"The price was good. I am cheap. When I opened my garage door up there was crud from my garage rafters and he said here is 10 bucks go get a car washed. Their responsiveness is very good. They cleaned up extremely well. They had a dumpster. Each day they would clean up everything they picked off the roof and put it in the dumpster. It took a day to replace the roof."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Peel-and-stick wallpaper is designed to be removed without damaging walls, making it a good choice for renters or temporary design changes. However, damage to paint or drywall can occur under certain conditions. To prevent issues, the wall surface must be properly prepared before application—it should be clean, smooth, dry, and correctly primed or painted. Applying wallpaper to a freshly painted surface can cause the paint to peel off during removal. Additionally, removing the wallpaper too quickly or aggressively can also cause damage. For best results, always follow the manufacturer's instructions for both application and removal.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. It's also crucial to contact your town's municipal office to ensure you are allowed to take on the project without a permit.

The two most common reasons wallpaper does not stick are a lack of preparation and improper adhesive. Be sure to use the wallpaper paste designed for the type of paper you choose. Before beginning your project, make sure the walls are clean and free of dust, grease, and oils.

Having dated, peeling, or otherwise damaged wallpaper can decrease the value of your property, so removing that before listing your house is nearly always a good idea; however, since wallpaper tends to be a personal style choice, potential buyers may or may not love your aesthetic as much as you do.

Love the look of wallpaper but want to consider property value as well? Stick with something that is easy to change. If you are thinking of selling soon, make sure your wallpaper hanging is on-point and looks professional with no crooked seams, evenly matched patterns, and minimal bubbling or other imperfections.
