"I hired Jevin and Genaro for my hot water replacement. They are very professional, diligent and did a fabulous job in replacing my hot water heater. My old hot water heater was in a tight spot and there was a water meter in between but they did an amazing job taking out my old heater and putting a new one without any issues. I would highly recommend their services. Easy to work with, reasonable pricing and extremely professional."

Customers say: Quick response

"Owner was very responsive, he called us back the same day we called him. He arrived promptly the next morning. He was very polite and respectful and 2 hours later his men were at our house with a new water heater. They were both friendly and very polite and worked quickly and neatly to install the new heater and within an hour we had hot water again! We highly recommend this company."

"Alec from Aqua Sewer & Drain Service very professional when he showed up to check the water leak we had. Alec diagnosed the issue and said we needed an expansion tank since it cracked and that’s where all the water was leaking from. He said we don’t need a water heater because that is functioning properly. He took some pictures and then went to get the parts and came back within 30 mins and started the work. You can tell he really knew what he was doing. He had all the right tools in his work truck. He removed the old expansion tank and put in the new expansion tank and a shut off valve and he also strapped the expansion tank so it got added support. He also check the water pressure and looked for leaks before he left. We had this issue Friday night around 11pm and we call his company Saturday morning and he should up at 8am. It took about 2 hours before he finished. Alec was very knowledgeable, he also wore booties on his shoes in our house. I would recommend Aqua Sewer & Drain Services to anyone who has any plumbing issues. We live in South Brunswick NJ."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Examples include gas stoves, ovens, and water heaters. Confirm with your provider for specific items.

While heat pump water heaters are more expensive than gas-powered water heaters, the ROI is higher for heat pump units. Not only are heat pump water heaters more energy efficient, meaning immediate savings on your energy bill, but they also last longer than traditional gas versions, meaning you won't have to buy them as often.

The size needed for your expansion tank is determined by the size of your home's water heater. Expansion tanks are available in 2-gallon and 4.5-gallon sizes. A 2-gallon tank will be appropriate for water heaters up to 50 gallons. An adequately sized tank should have a volume that equals 2% to 5% of the water volume within the system. A plumber can evaluate your home's water pressure, water heater size, and other factors to provide suggestions for picking out the best expansion tank.

Yes, you can convert a gas water heater to an electric one, but it is a complex process. You will need to ensure there is adequate power for the new electric unit, as they require more power than gas models. The project also involves safely closing off the gas lines and ventilation, and some cities may require a permit for the conversion. The cost can range from $1,500 to $4,100, depending on the installation scope, plumbing and electrical work, and the water heater model. For an accurate quote, it's best to contact a local professional. Also, be aware that your monthly utility bills may increase after the conversion, as natural gas is typically cheaper than electricity.

No. Expansion tanks must be installed on the supply side (where heated water flows out) of the boiler. There’s also a list of other requirements for most boilers, including being above the pressure relief valves, being on the inner side of any circulator, and more. Your installation manual should have more information on expansion tank installation requirements and what sort of tank the system is made for.
