"I personally recommend Monarch Roofing. Mathew was amazing to work with, he's experienced knowledgeable and worked well. I'm the judge of that and they did an excellent job!!! The roofers worked very hard, took our old roof off the first day and started the new roof. Second day they finished our roof and cleaned all the roofing materials from our property, they also did an excellent job cleaning up. The men were very hard working and very polite. I'm grateful, and blessed we used Monarch Roofing, I highly recommend them!"

"I contacted Klestian from All Point Roofing company regarding the hail and wind damage on my roof. He went thru a thorough inspection on the roof and submitted the report with the pictures of the damages. Followed by explanation about the new roof installation process in details. The whole roof installation went well and on time. No mess left on the ground. Besides the good quality work he and his team did, I found that him being responsive and attentive to accommodate customer needs is one of the key factor that make me seal the business with All Point Roofing company!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Sticky shoes help, but you shouldn't be walking on the steel roof— let the pros do that. it's dangerous enough to walk on asphalt shingled roofs which have quite a bit of texture. Stone coating adds a lot of grip, but it still doesn't lock your foot down, so if you absolutely have to be on the roof, make sure you’re secured in another way, like with the harness and rope.

Sometimes, a local authority won’t approve a request for a roofing permit. This may be because of incomplete documentation, unclear project plans, processing delays, or insufficient communication. There may also be discrepancies with building codes.

Some homes, like those with flat roofs, may not have eaves at all. Some contemporary-style homes also lack eaves, although many may have abbreviated eaves to divert water and protect the walls and foundation. Homes without eaves often have specific types of gutters affixed directly to the edge of the roof to provide adequate drainage.

Many insurance policies will not cover a roof with two layers of shingles. An additional layer of shingles increases the risk of various kinds of damage, and insurers typically won’t pay claims on a roof with an overlay. Adding a layer of shingles may even jeopardize your insurance coverage entirely, so check your policy to ensure you stay within coverage guidelines.

Gable vents are more common in older homes built before the 1970s. Homes built after this era use ridge vents or soffits, but you can sometimes find homes with both gable and ridge vents. Gable vents can have a purely aesthetic purpose, while ridge vents hide in the roof shingles so air can flow under the roof while keeping the attic dry.
