"This is my second time with this tree company. For some reason didn't find them in Angie's list, but fortunately found their phone number in my phonebook (saved the last time). The estimate was a little bit cheaper comparing to others (I used 4 companies to get a truly transparent picture of what needs to be done and prevent upselling). Surprisingly to me, none of the companies tried to upsell; their recommendations were the same (up to some extend). At the end, decided to go with BJ's, mostly because of the prior positive experience. The work was done next business day after my call (they even offered same day services, but I was unable to accommodate). The work was done in less than 2 hours! Everything was cleaned after. I will definitely call BJ's next time when I need tree services. Highly recommend!"

"A small business but great service. Evan , the owner loves trees. He planted 8 Leland cypress for me with great care, He is even coming back to water them on his own time to ensure that they get a good start. I would strongly recommend his tree service,"

"Great job. Crew arrived promptly each morning and worked diligently mindful of surrounding property. The owner provided a letter necessary for the tree removal permit. The work was completed in a timely manner, all debris carted off, wood split and stacked. We would use this company again."

"John arrived on time as he said. Did exactly what he said he would do and more, gave very fair price for amount of work involved. Leaves in front and rear were never cleaned this season . I Would recommend and looking foreword to hiring him back in early spring for tree, shrub trimming and other yard work."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.

Pruning a tree is a yearly DIY job that involves removing small dead branches, leaves, and blooms to help the tree grow bigger and stronger. You can often complete the job with basic home gardening tools. Trimming a tree, however, removes larger sections to control the direction the tree grows in and protects your home, utility wires, and yard from potentially dangerous branches.

In the case that a tree is growing directly on your property line, the cost of maintaining the tree is shared and is the property of both owners in common. In this case, all decisions regarding the maintenance of the tree must be made jointly, and both parties must agree on a course of action. You will need to agree with your neighbor about the cutting of any roots before you carry it out, and your neighbor must also consult with you before doing any trimming. Coming to an agreement with your neighbor about any shared trees ahead of necessary trimming and maintenance will make this process much simpler.

Whether you should remove the roots of a dead tree depends on whether they’re damaging nearby areas. For instance, if the roots continue to grow near sidewalks, driveways, or the foundation of your home, they can cause damage. If you want to plant something else in that spot, removing the roots can make it easier for the new tree or plant to grow.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.
